TMZ is looking for a Editor to work in our fast-paced, TV news production environment. This role is responsible for editing content for multiple television shows as well as other creative projects. The Editor prepares and edits video procured from multiple sources for broadcast and website publication. It is vital for this person to be an engaging storyteller, who can produce (preditor) and piece together interesting stories within extremely tight daily deadlines. Must be highly proficient with Adobe Premiere, a Mac and PC user, and should be comfortable with basic aspects of computing, including Slack, MS Office Suite and navigating the internet. This position reports into the Supervising Producer and is located in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities:
• Produce and edit video content daily with Adobe Premiere (with editorial sense/judgment/direction)
• Cut and export video images in Photoshop
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• Experience working on a television show (news, broadcast, cable, daytime talk, reality, etc.) is preferred
• A strong interest in entertainment celebrity news, preferred
• 3-5 years of video editing experience required

The 2nd Assistant Editor will support Kin’s Post Production department in all aspects media management, including preparing media after production for our editors, sourcing media for projects as needed from our library of hard drives, and QCing masters before archiving them to our new asset library management system. The 2nd AE will play a critical role in supporting the 1st (Lead) Assistant Editor and our stable of freelance editors as we move through a robust production slate for 2023. We have recently transitioned from Final Cut Pro to Adobe Premiere, so knowledge of both platforms is required. This role requires extreme attention to detail, proficiency in organization, adherence to deadlines and a great level of proactivity. This is a freelance full-time position.

This is a remote position, but it will be required to go into our LA-based office for training and potentially one day a week.

What You’ll Do:
- Collect drives from production teams, offload/upload media and assets and ensuring all footage is accounted for, verify data backups, and stored in the proper locations in a timely manner
- Review media, catch and flag any production errors, issues, or inconsistencies to all stakeholders
- Import and prepare all project assets into Adobe Premiere working with the Lead Assistant Editor to maintain Kin’s workflow standards
- Build multicam clips from source material according to project specs
- Diligently organize, connect, and synchronize media in sequences for external editorial teams
- Annotate and label all media based on project notes, as well as using your own intuition and understanding of the shoot to organize media in the project in a concise manner to set up the editorial team for success
- Maintain logs and enter project metadata as needed
- Ensure correct project templates are being utilized and distributed to creative teams
- Recall old projects and media from archives when required
- QC episode masters to ready for distribution

What You Have:
- 1-2 years of post-production experience, including work as an AE, preferably with digital content
- Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite / Final Cut Pro and other post-production software
- Advanced knowledge of video and audio codecs for digital media and broadcast distribution
- Working knowledge on how to navigate networks, servers and remote software such as Jump Desktop
- Strong commitment to detail and an aptitude for organizing and labeling media content
- Proficiency with Google Suite
- Ability to work independently and with teams, able to decipher problems and create solutions; able to complete tasks with minimal guidance if necessary
- Adept at determining priorities and able to hit deadlines under pressure; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment

The Lead Assistant Editor must know the online / coloring process from start to finish. This position requires someone who is extremely organized with the ability to multi-task various project needs at once, and able to problem solve and communicate effectively. Speed and technical aptitude are an absolute must. This position reports directly to the Post-Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
• Create and organize projects from scratch
• Ingest footage and elements from studio tapings, and group multi-cam footage
• Basic editing of elements and clip roll-ins for studio tapings, as needed
• Basic editing of excerpts for delivery to promotional and social outlets, as needed
• Transcode footage of all formats from various sources
• OMF, AAF, and other media management duties, as assigned by Post-Production Supervisor and editors
• Compress and export clips with links for distribution, viewing and approvals
• Ability to collaborate with Post-Production team members to troubleshoot and create a streamlined and efficient workflow

Requirements:
• 2 to 3 years of video editing experience is required
• Premiere Pro experience is a MUST
• Experience with, or a basic understanding of, media asset management software is needed. FrameIO, Vimeo, Dalet (cataloging, adding metadata, folder structure organization)
• Experience with the full Adobe Creative Suite, preferred
• Must be able to export and upload current edits for distribution

Job Title: Freelance QC Coordinator

Overview:
The QC Coordinator reviews all project deliverables from internal and external post production teams before publishing and archiving. This role is indescribably meticulous in their work and is a strong communicator, interacting with a myriad of team members and departments during the final phases of a project. As the last line of defense before publishing, QC Coordinators play a critical role in ensuring that CNE video content looks and sounds its best, airs without errors, and adheres to strict standards for various types of deliverable assets. The QC Coordinator reports to the Supervisor, QC, and works closely with video editors, Post Production Supervisors, Scheduling, Video Operations, and the Media Asset Management team. This role may occasionally require extended hours and weekend work in order to get the job done.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Review in-progress edits and all project deliverables (video, audio, images, documentation) for quality and adherence to required technical specifications; catch spelling errors, improper framing, glitches, improper color and audio levels, off-brand/off-series errors, and more before air and archive
- Relay QC notes to editors and ensure all applicable assets are redelivered as needed
- Manage a steady queue of deliverables across several projects and brands with competing priorities and shifting air dates, pivoting when necessary and communicating deliveries and delays to Scheduling and Publishing teams
- Stay on the pulse of updated style guides and series tags, ensuring newly published content keeps up to date with brand/series refreshes.
- Help enforce standards, policies, and procedures for asset delivery and archiving
- Assist with media requests such as pulling archived episodes, transcoding videos for external delivery partners, etc.
- When possible, preview content ahead of initial delivery and QC review; provide quality-control feedback to editors, audio mixers, and colorists during a project, and provide feedback to associated team members
- Liaise with various CNE teams for inbound and outbound delivery requests, technical-related inquiries involving delivery specs, transfer credentials, and sending requests (via SFTP, Signiant, Hightail, etc.)

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a post-production environment, with skills revolving around asset management and delivery
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro is required
- Excel in meticulous attention to detail, with experience in a wide array of video formats, quality control, archiving, and light-touch editing.
- Proficient knowledge of the main digital video and audio formats
- Understanding of media codecs, bit rates, aspect ratios, color spaces, and compression

Seeking a Post Supervisor to oversee an Oxygen Crime Series. Must be good at multitasking, problem solving, attention to detail, and communicating with Field team, Editors, AE's, Story Team, Producers, and Network. Must have experience with Clearance and Legal. Will be responsible for managing edit, online, and mix schedules. You will be overseeing a small staff - must be good at delegating and managing staff. You will be overseeing online & mix sessions with the EP/Show Runner. Must be comfortable addressing notes and making sure they are handled.

This position is fully remote. Job starts early June. Runs until sometime in December. Salary range is $2400-$2500/wk based on experience.
