TMZ is seeking a Lead Assistant Editor to assist with editing for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The Lead Assistant Editor must know the online / coloring process from start to finish. This position requires someone who is extremely organized with the ability to multi-task various project needs at once, and able to problem solve and communicate effectively. Speed and technical aptitude are an absolute must. This position reports directly to the Post-Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
• Create and organize projects from scratch
• Ingest footage and elements from studio tapings, and group multi-cam footage
• Basic editing of elements and clip roll-ins for studio tapings, as needed
• Basic editing of excerpts for delivery to promotional and social outlets, as needed
• Transcode footage of all formats from various sources
• OMF, AAF, and other media management duties, as assigned by Post-Production Supervisor and editors
• Compress and export clips with links for distribution, viewing and approvals
• Ability to collaborate with Post-Production team members to troubleshoot and create a streamlined and efficient workflow

Requirements:
• 2 to 3 years of video editing experience is required
• Premiere Pro experience is a MUST
• Experience with, or a basic understanding of, media asset management software is needed. FrameIO, Vimeo, Dalet (cataloging, adding metadata, folder structure organization)
• Experience with the full Adobe Creative Suite, preferred
• Must be able to export and upload current edits for distribution
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of video formats and equipment is required
• Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage time effectively, are required

We are in need of a talented Assistant Editor to come in and pull selects from a series of zoom interviews. There will be approximately 10 hour-long interviews to go through, so we're looking for someone efficient and experienced in combing through large amounts of interview footage for standout sound bites.

Interested applicants should have strong storytelling instincts, should excel at working with interview and vérité footage, and should have experience in quickly going through large selections of footage in order to pull the best selects. Efficiency and attention to detail are key.

This role will report directly to Final Frame’s DI Manager and will be in-person Monday – Friday, 10 am-7 pm.

Responsibilities and duties:

Relink and copy media from client drives to our internal SAN, transcoding when necessary.

Migrate offline edit from the editing program to the color correction platform.

Conform picture at the highest resolution and quality possible, recreating all scaling, positioning, and effects.

Work in tandem with the colorist to integrate graphics, text, replacement shots, and fixes throughout the color grade.

Communicate with the client, audio mixer, and other third party vendors to shepherd each project through the finishing process.

Export and review final deliverables, ensuring the highest quality possible.

Communicate with distributors, networks, and streaming services to ensure deliverables adhere to the relevant specifications.

Preferred Knowledge:
Proficiency in Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere.
Experience with Davinci Resolve and/or Adobe After Effects a plus.
Knowledge and understanding of various video frame rates, resolutions, and codecs.
Ability to problem solve and create efficient workflows under tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and good communication skills are crucial.
