We are an Academy Award and Emmy-winning production company, working across feature documentaries, unscripted series, and commercial and short form content.
We are in the process of ramping up production on several projects, and looking to bring in someone to function as in-house Line Producer at our production office in New York.
The Line Producer is a full-time staff position, supporting the head of the studio and its producers in developing and vetting production plans for shows in development and pre-production (including budgets, schedules, cash flow and overall approach to physical production), as well as overseeing production and postproduction on current projects. The position will perform both work at the company level as well as line producing specific projects, and working with freelance producers/line producers running the day-to-day on additional projects. We are looking for someone who is interested in becoming part of a tight-knit team, with long term potential for growth.
Core responsibilities include:
-Building budgets and schedules for development projects.
-Staffing up for productions and negotiating crew deals.
-Working with production accountants and freelance line producers to ensure timely and accurate cost reporting, keeping productions on-schedule and on-budget, and identifying and raising potential problem areas as early as possible.
-Establishing relationships with vendors to obtain best possible deal terms across productions.
-Overseeing the production accountant in timely and accurate processing of payroll.
-Managing any necessary guild, legal and insurance requirements for productions.
-Tracking the progress of projects across development and production to delivery, including working with post supervisors to track and confirm final deliverables and oversee the completion and delivery of production wrap binders.
-Working in support to the head of the studio, and in conjunction with our accounting team, to assist with management of cash flow and overall schedules for active development and production projects.
-Being in the field on shoots as needed and agreed on in advance with producers.
Qualifications:
-8+ years experience in physical production as a producer, line producer, production manager and/or supervising producer on non-fiction features/series.
-Complete understanding of nonfiction production and post-production budgets is a must.
-Extensive experience managing production for both high and low budget non-fiction features and series, some international production experience strongly preferred.
-Knowledge of post-production workflow including picture and sound finishing / delivery.
-A proven ability to react to changes in story and adapt budgets and production schedules accordingly.
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with both direct reports and superiors.
