REPORTS TO: Vice President of Production

THE ROLE: GAC Media is looking for a Media Manager to join the Production department to oversee the department’s media management. The Media Manager is skilled in managing very detailed MAM and S3 storage environments while working with the edit teams working in Adobe Premiere. The Media Manager loves processes and efficient workflow to enable the various teams to access and work with the department’s media in the most efficient manner.

• This roll is full-time, based in Fort Worth, Texas.
• The ideal candidate is responsible for performing timely media ingest and media management for RIDE TV and Great American Country channels.
• The ideal candidate will report to the Vice President of Production as well interact with the CTO and Broadcast Operations.
• The successful candidate in this role must have the ability to be self-motivated and work in a detail oriented, fast paced multi-network environment.
• The ideal candidate will interact with many internal and external GAC Media partners such as Mastering, Servicing, Marketing, Programming, Ad Sales, Broadcast Operations, and Media Engineering.
• The ideal candidate will maintain a high level of customer service at all times. As the key point of contact for media ingest, media management, and metadata management, the role will also be accountable for database accuracy and assuring the technical compliance of GAC Media, MAM, and S3 storages compliance.

DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES: This position works under the direction of the Vice President of Production and executive leadership team. Responsibilities include:
• Perform the processing and management of media assets in a results-driven environment.
• Accountable for MAM and S3 ingest activity and tracking, as well as ingest activity that may occur outside GAC Media’s MAM & S3 storages.
• Create and archive edit projects for the edit team.
• Add detailed metadata to all media so the media can be searched and managed through various systems like Iconik and Signiant products.
• Ingest of both finished and unfinished content and validate file integrity and adherence to format specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve both media-based and MAM system-based technical anomalies – escalating as necessary according to established protocols.
• Address file rejections generated by Quality Control (QC) software and manual QC processing and escalate to appropriate teams as required.
• Perform metadata validation and entry including segment.
• Be a subject matter expert in all department databases and software (ShowMgr, MediaPulse, Jet, Smartsheets, Telestream’s Vantage, etc.)
• Perform media asset transformations utilizing transcode tools, time compression and edit tools.
• Perform manual deliveries to broadcast and be able to perform daily missing media checks on broadcast networks.
• Perform broadcast QC for technical anomalies as needed using broadcast playback tools.
• Be a part of a strong, high functioning team that is able to effectively and efficiently execute assignments.
• Ensure the prompt resolution of high-level issues related to file integrity, media attributes, and content compliance.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in documenting department processes.
• Have an attitude of continuous improvement that improves our processes.
• Assist management in developing, maintaining, and enforcing media management, storage, and content security policies for staff and contractors working for GAC Media.
• Cross train for post-production support within the post department.
• Liaison with various GAC Media departments and provide a high level of customer service.

• Bachelor’s degree required or relevant work experience.
• Prior media management or television operations experience is preferred.
• Broadcast/Cable television, Studio, or Post-Production house experience is preferred.
• Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
• Must be able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Must be a team player with exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of audio/video file formats, television standards, film formats, codecs, bitrates, frame rates, video resolutions, aspect ratios, broadcast audio configurations and electronic delivery technologies.
• Knowledge of media processing tools including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, QuickTime Pro, Caption Software, Mediator, Compressor, Vantage, Beyond Compare, Aspera and Signiant applications.
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of Smartsheets.
• Proficient with both PC and Mac editing systems and a knowledge of Linux terminal commands.
• Must work well with little or no supervision and have a strong attention to detail.
• Driven individual with an innovation attitude which strives to achieve more efficient processes as technology advances.
• Strong understanding of production and post-production workflows and best practices a must.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is in an office environment where the most common hazards include trip hazards and electrical. The rooms are temperature controlled. Some travel may be required.
