- Job Requirements: Must be local to location (or willing to work as a local).
Mission Studios is a full-service production company specializing in political media. We produce ads and videos for Democratic political campaigns and progressive advocacy groups.
In addition we produce branded content, advertising and entertainment projects through our partner company Mission Creative.
We’re seeking a talented editor/designer hybrid — someone equally as comfortable designing and animating motion graphics in After Effects as they are editing and grading footage in Premiere.
Stronger in one than the other? That’s ok. All candidates will be considered and there is definitely room for on the job learning.
We are a small shop doing a lot of high profile work. You’ll get to wear a lot of hats and flex your creative skills.
Much of our work requires text-heavy, information-delivering graphics, as well as creative editing in a variety of techniques — oftentimes all in one project. A background in broadcast design or news graphics is often a great fit.
Take a look at some of our past projects to understand the nature of our work. You can view our political projects here:

Strong experience with the full Adobe suite of products is required, in particular After Effects and Premiere.
In addition to being able to both design and edit, you should also be comfortable with:
Basic color correction — the ability to grade footage from LOG
Basic sound mixing
Exporting to various delivery formats
Non-technical or creative skills we are definitely looking for include:
Ability to deliver under tight deadlines
Great written and verbal communication skills, particularly regarding progress
Detail oriented
Ability to multitask
We are ideally looking for someone in the Washington D.C. area, though all applicants will be considered. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
Please respond with your portfolio. We prefer complete works (ad/promos/videos) as opposed to montage reels, but both will be accepted.
Thank you!
