Overview and Responsibilities
*** News is seeking a diligent and strategically minded Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The Financial Analyst will perform a broad range of financial activities including the consolidation of the divisions' financials, assisting with the financial planning and budgeting processes, forecasting, building financial models, preparing presentations, and performing research and analysis using large data sets. The ideal candidate is well organized, solution focused, and able to take initiative. This role will report into the FP&A Director of *** News.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build financial models and perform complex scenario analysis for projects that span multiple business units including News Broadcasts, Newsgathering & Operations
• Work with large data sets to analyze current and past financial data and performance including News story cost break-down
• Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement
• Collaborate with the *** News & Operations team on the monthly forecast and assist in development and preparation of the annual budget and long-range financial plan
• Prepare monthly budget performance reports for *** News departments and broadcasts
• Update and provide trend analysis for overtime & operations das *** ard. Work with business units to manage overtime and reduce cost to *** News
• Assist FP&A Director to prepare presentations and other key materials for the *** News leadership team
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required, a focus in Finance, Analytics or related area preferred
• 2+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and financial modeling; experience in investment banking, consulting, or corporate development is preferred
Additional Qualifications
• Exemplary Excel, PowerPoint and financial modeling skills
• Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts and accounting principles
• Ability to multitask and work seamlessly across numerous projects / work-streams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem solving and critical thinking ability
• Ability to work in a team environment while working independently on multiple tasks
• Knowledge of ERP systems and related technologies

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 80,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
