Responsibilities for this position include creating content for all FCW platforms as well as supporting the digital developer & content editor and managing FCW program outreach.

Candidates will focus on various segments of the flooring industry and contribute stories to FCW in print, online and on social platforms. They should be able to develop strong interview and writing skills. Some stories will be assigned but there will also be the expectation that the candidate will identify editorial opportunities as well.

This position is customer-facing and will be charged with forging positive relationships with key industry figures.

Candidates must be deadline oriented. They will contribute to weekly editorial meetings and add to the creative process with new ideas. While the assistant editor will become the expert in key areas/categories, they should be able to collaborate with the edit team on larger projects and be asked at times to take the lead on specific projects. They will also work alongside the senior managing editor during the production process to proofread pages and route pages to the appropriate editor.
