The Post Production Assistant position is an integral part of our team. Position starts as early as 8/15.

This job will initially be remote. There is no current plan to go into the office yet. But this job is based in STAMFORD. So when the time comes, once we return in a hybrid situation, there would be an expectation that people will be able to commute to Stamford.

Post PA supports Post management, fulfilling requests in a timely fashion. Responsibilities include: deliverables paperwork, organizing transcription orders, updating tracking docs, and other side projects. You might also help Production Management as time allows, with booking shoots.

Individual must be an excellent communicator, extremely detail-oriented, and a team-player; who displays enthusiasm to get the job done. This role is for an individual with TV production post production experience.

We do a 30 day trial period, to make sure it's a good fit.

The Graphic Producer will be responsible for the creation of graphic elements which include written/visual content under tight deadlines in a live broadcast environment including but not limited to a control room.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the content producers to find innovative ways to enhance the on-air content with graphic elements.

We are seeking an editor who is familiar with a diverse array of video editing techniques. For example - video used in a fast-paced nightly sportscast will be cut differently than a serious 3-camera anchor interview. What's more - your work will be showcased in a variety of *** : television newscasts, digital *** , specials & documentaries, and social *** posts.

Our editing team uses Edius to cut video, but experience on similar non-linear editing platforms like Avid or Final Cut is also acceptable. The successful candidate will possess superior editorial judgement, work well in a deadline-driven environment, and be capable of editing video quickly, accurately and creatively. In this position, you will edit video, work within the newscasts as a writer and writer/associate producer, and also develop content for all our digital platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Edit video on a deadline, working with the Producer towards a creative and informative newscast with emphasis on the viewers' interests
• Produce content for ****.com, and promote our coverage on our social *** feeds, funneling the audience to our site and our broadcast
• Adapt to breaking news and developing stories
• Communicate with anchors, field crews, and control room staff

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or a related field is desired
• 1-2 years of experience producing newscasts or news content online
• Must keep up with local, state, national and international events
• Organized; able to work with many personality types
• This position requires someone who can exercise discretion, best judgment, and has solid journalistic/ethical skills

Job Summary:

*** is seeking a full-time freelance News Editor for Washington and politics content for *** Digital.

This editor is responsible for working closely with the Washington Editor in the coordination and line editing of text stories related to DC and politics. This editor is also responsible for coordinating with Digital's senior editorial leaders, the various DC editorial teams, including the White House and Capitol Hill, and the Newsgathering division as a whole.

This editor is also responsible for coordinating with our Audience Development team for effective social *** and platforms coverage to maximize the exposure of Digital's content.

This editor is also expected to coordinate with the teams responsible for videos, photos and graphics -- exercising discretion on the accomplishment of tasks.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience handling or leading breaking news coverage, is a self-starter and does well under pressure. The candidate should also have experience dealing with teams for legal review and for news standards and practices.

The role is based in Washington, D.C.

The hours are generally from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, though the hours may occasionally change depending on events and coverage needs.

Work with Digital's senior editorial leaders, the DC editorial teams and Newsgathering to ensure robust and timely coverage of DC-based and politics stories.
Assist with live coverage of DC-based and politics stories, including editing live blogs during special events.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5 years of news writing/editing experience, including breaking news
Proven ability to write clean copy and edit on a deadline
Track record of working on DC-based and politics stories for a major online news organization
Experience with web publishing and AP style
Track record of collaborating with reporters and editors of all experience levels in a fast-paced newsroom.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

BA or BS from a 4-year accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Master's degree in journalism from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
