Hiring a qualified editor for a three episode docuseries, currently shooting S1. It's a talking head show, with three to four segments covering a b-story shoot in the field.
Successful candidates will have relevant credits on Discovery, Nat Geo, History, etc. Special attention will be paid to those who have credits covering paranormal/UFO topics, i.e. Encounters, Unsolved Mysteries, Skinwalker Ranch, Ancient Aliens (or anything Prometheus), Unidentified, etc.
If you have solid docuseries credits and haven't worked in the ufo/paranormal space, but have knowledge of the topic, please let us know. Interest or knowledge of the topic isn't required, but may prove useful.
11 weeks to edit and deliver three hour-long episodes, you will work directly with two EPs.
An ideal candidate will have experience delivering required assets to streamers like Apple TV and Prime Video, and will be comfortable cutting limited promo shorts for social media.
This is a remote position. If you live in the NYC tri-state area, you may have a slight advantage. Please mention if this is the case.

Job Description
Finance news brand is seeking an experienced video editor to edit engaging, informative and timely video features, recurring series episodes and in-depth interviews. The video editor will regularly work on segments ranging from eight to 10 minutes with opportunities to expand stories to 25 minutes for OTT platforms.
These originals will be expected to capture viewers' attention through their sharp perspective, approachable style, and clear relevance to the biggest investments and financial questions investors face. You will help spearhead execution across a range of programming formats.
You will work closely with reporters, studio, graphics, and more to elevate brand’s feature video stories. You will be expected to be a strong collaborator and execute an efficient video production process to ensure clean, final delivery. Attention to detail, clear communication and being mindful of deadlines are a must. Strong candidates will be comfortable balancing a variety of projects and deadlines while working with different producers.
Responsibilities:
- Edit original features using Adobe Premiere, for audiences across our daily live distribution onsite and off, YouTube, and major social platforms.
- Help conceptualize, manage and execute visually dynamic, original edits in a deadline-driven environment.
- Stay up-to-date on the workings of company systems including proprietary infrastructures, working with the post support team to source and acquire assets as necessary for projects.
- Communicate in an appropriate and timely manner to relay issues and concerns about individual edits, technical issues and deadlines.
- Regularly update media and project tracking documents as necessary.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day issues with the IT team and post management.
- Develop and grow audience engagement across major platforms and help editorial leads establish and maintain OKR goals

Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience editing narrative features for onsite and OTT.
- An exceptional storyteller with a proven track record of editing high-quality, original field production with the audience and platform in mind.
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere.
- Must be experienced working with graphic templates and MGRTS within premiere. AfterEffects experience preferred.
- Comfortable sourcing pictures, video, soundbite from subscriptions services, including AP, Reuters, Getty, etc.
- Editor must thrive under deadline pressure and be able to juggle multiple tasks and assignments.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
- Be able to work within and conform to established organizational systems and work/troubleshoot in team environments.
- Quality control of all video assets sent to the control room and published to our site and OTT platforms.
