The Daily Show with Trevor Noah is looking for a Post-Production Coordinator to join our team in New York. You will partner with teammates and other departments to ensure high-quality content, and comprehensive handling of all post-production processes. The ideal candidate will be able to handle challenging situations with tact, analyze issues effectively, take direction from senior staff across various departments, and be able to accommodate various work styles and personalities. The hours for this position are staggered to accommodate the daily shoot and delivery of the show - working closer to a 12pm - 10pm schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Post-Production team in successfully navigating a large volume of programming through the post-production, delivery, and archival process
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, requiring a strong ability to pay close attention to many details and moving parts
• Review and QC all segments of the nightly show to ensure audio and video quality meet delivery standards
• Liaise with Network Operations contacts to facilitate the nightly show delivery via fiber feed from office to offsite facility
• Assist editors with transcoding and organizing studio-shot footage, along with ENG material shot in the field, working with the team to archive all materials once aired
• Digitize/record news and supplemental footage for Topical and Package team producers from various mediums (stock tapes and internet sources)
• Compile and review transcripts for field-shot footage
• Work hands-on in creating final deliverables for various media platforms
• Flexible hours a must, with a staggered start time to accommodate the daily shooting, editing and delivery of the show
Qualifications:
• 2+ years production and/or post-production experience, with an understanding of television post-production workflow and technology
• Proficient in AVID Media Composer and Nexis Client Manager
• Experience with Adobe Media Encoder and Premiere Pro
• Must understand the foundation of video and audio technologies, including files formats, camera codecs, metadata, network and broadcast delivery and quality control requirements
• The ability to juggle multiple priorities and communication streams at once through a variety of platforms, email, Slack, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with both studio and field-based production environments a plus
• Meticulous, with a sharp eye for detail and continuity in art as well as copy
• Extremely organized and always meets deadlines on time
