POST PRODUCTION MANAGER
The filmmakers of the award-winning feature documentary “The Biggest Little Farm” are embarking on a new blue-chip sequel series. This new 12-episode documentary series, directed by John Chester, starts where the film leaves off, weaving together the farm’s many characters and visiting wildlife, to illustrate a world fueled by its interconnectedness.
We are seeking a (TECHNICAL) POST PRODUCTION MANAGER!
The position is non union and the candidate must be willing to work in-person on the farm in Moorpark, CA. Rate is industry competitive and based on experience.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Provide hands-on management of full post production operations of the project including all processes, procedures, and outputs, as well as day-to-day management of AE team, hands on system and machine maintenance, cross-department communication, and supporting AEs in their duties as needed.
Maintain all post production edit stations including rapid troubleshooting of technical problems, keeping accounts and systems up to date, and collaborating with off-site specialists to find solutions in a rapid manner.
Hands on management of post production workflows including media management on our on-site EVO server.
Lead the QC process to ensure all raw footage and audio from the field meets the highest technical standards. Includes but not limited to:
• Identifying camera, lens, and/or lighting issues.
• Basic color adjustments in Resolve to determine if footage is salvageable.
• Escalating and managing communication with Colorist when raw footage requires additional level of review.
• Alerting the Line Producer and Field Producer quickly through proper channels so corrections can be made in the field.
Export secure internal and external cuts, uploading to Frame.io and client workspaces.
Work with Line Producers to manage all Post Production milestones and ensure the project stays on schedule for all deliveries.
Work with online editor(s) to coordinate and help guide the project through the online process.
Support the AE by ingesting footage from the field, creating proxies, editing footage stringouts, and posting dailies as needed.
Supervising at least one AE
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro and Mac OS & proficiency in DaVinci Resolve.
• Experience using Jump or similar remote working platforms.
• Strong technical knowledge
• Strong problem-solving skills and perseverance to help resolve technical issues that may arise.
• Knowledge of different broadcast and digital formats with the ability to work with a variety of frame rates and video codecs.
• A strong working knowledge of offline/online workflows.
• The ability to work unsupervised and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
• Must possess the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and prioritize work while under pressure.
• Experience delivering series to major streamers or networks.
• Strong communication skills for troubleshooting and liaising across multiple departments
