First Media is looking for a talented Post Production Supervisor to join their Operations team. This position oversees all aspects of Studio post production and coordinates the edit, finishing, and delivery to ensure all video content is of the highest quality and consistent with First Media’s brands.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all videos are completed on time, within budget and to spec.
Work with producers to create Post Production schedule for each project and forecast any special needs / requirements for specific productions.
Collaborate with producers, editors, finishing, and gfx to acquire necessary assets and materials and meet both internal and external client deadlines.
Supervise Media (allocate field drives to producers, coordinate delivery of media from field to post, raw media to server & edit drive, archival & storage, recycling of field drives)
QC and Review content to maintain consistent and high quality standard across all projects
Distribute cuts internally and externally for review. Collect and disseminate notes to editors. Supervise and assist with implementation of notes as needed.
Research and implement improvements to Post Production workflows
Train junior editors and producers on best practices in Adobe CC, both individual and in workshops
Troubleshoot software issues in Adobe CC and advise on hardware optimization
Manage Servers & Media (hard drives and field drives, primary and backup servers, cloud archive storage, library/masters/licensed assets/GFX)
Responsible for the time allocations of all post production personnel and equipment;
Responsible for the oversight and organization of final project delivery, including full episodes, cutdowns, stills, textless versions and captions, and to oversee the proper storage of video masters and backups.
Ensure all editors and staff have proper access to server. Maintain and upgrade server software as needed.
Work with Operations on overall Studio archival and storage solutions and forecast future needs.
Manage cloud storage, Frame IO accounts.
Manage Stills library & delivery for each video
Continually update and improve Edit Manual including best practices and content delivery guidelines. Enforce best practices, file naming, organization, and optimization protocols.
Monthly Delivery Reports and Projections for Director of Operations
Weekly Updates to Operations on Post deliveries and deadlines
Update Editor/AE database & find new talent.
Coordinate & allocate post equipment and maintain Daily Edit Bay Grid – projecting additional computer / resource needs
Oversee collection of First Media hard drives and maintain the weekly schedule for pick up and drop offs.
For every new production:
Initiate Post with introductory email connecting Editor/Producer& Director and outlining schedule
Create one-sheet for each episode w/ all pertinent info
Create and update Dropbox folder for each video’s assets & documents
Music Libraries – Serve as liaison between library and post staff. Ensure music cue sheets are submitted, work with operations to ensure music library invoices are paid, all post production staff have login credentials as needed.
Stock Footage – facilitate stock footage and stills needs across all productions and log use
Outreach to vendors for Post needs
Consult with operations on Equipment & Software purchases
Qualifications:
2-4 year’s experience coordinating post-production
Self-starter who is never satisfied and constantly desires to improve and remain competitive in an ever-evolving marketplace
Knowledge of editing techniques, audio mixing, color correction techniques and software, media file formats, animated graphics and equipment used in day-to-day post-production processes.
Experience working on projects with fast (i.e. daily) turnarounds, tight deadlines, and multiple editors.
Knowledge of file-based post-production workflows.
Experienced with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Dropbox.
Highly organized and self-motivated.
Excellent problem solver.
Strong communication skills.
Large contact list of editors, AEs, story producers, etc a plus.
Knowledge of design trends in typography, motion graphics and titles a huge plus
