Post Supervisor

Words + Pictures is seeking an experienced post supervisor to oversee a handful of films that are part of the award winning documentary series, 30 for 30.

Skills/Experience:
-Have a strong technical understanding of unscripted Post workflows.
-Highly organized
-Great Communicator
-Must be able to manage a small team of editors and AEs, and work in concert with the Line Producer/Producers to oversee changing budget needs and timeliness.
-Should have at least 3-5 documentary or non-scripted features / series
-Flexible and adaptable, able to pivot as needed and the ability to handle many different types of production team needs
-Experience managing multiple projects and teams

Note this is not currently designed as a position for folks who are looking to step up into a post supervisor role

Key Responsibilities:
-Will manage the ingest/organization/processing of high volumes of media
-Find and Negotiate with Post vendors including but not limited to Animation/VFX, Composers, Re-recording Mixers, -Colorists, Music Libraries etc.
-Maintain and alter post production schedule as needed ensuring cuts are delivered on time for internal review, as well as network/distributors
-Communicating changes/ issues with post equipment, post, delays etc to lead producers and key executives as needed and troubleshooting issues that arise.
-Work with network and key executives as needed to communicate post updates, challenges etc.
-Oversee online, finishing and delivery. Working to ensure all post paper deliverables are executed properly and project is wrapped for network or further distribution
-Strong working knowledge of Avid and Premiere. Be able to manage post schedule and budget. Familiar with post deliverables to outside departments and to networks.
-Adept at hiring AEs, Editors, etc. as needed and comes with a rolodex of key talent

Rate is commensurate with experience
Initial contract is a one year term from start date with the opportunity to extend

Role Overview:
