Job Description

The Producer will be responsible for the development and production of news packages needed for different newscasts.

Responsibilities:

• Research, write and produce strong editorial copy and packages with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Produce live segments, including writing sharp questions and identifying the strongest possible elements when booking guests.
• Pitch the most relevant, timely and compelling ideas for day-of and future segments.
• Quality checks all video content and keep Executive Producer and Line Producer up to date with daily news development of assigned stories.
• Secure elements such as sound bites and video to support segments and packages.
• Generate original guest ideas daily, tapping into a broad array of sources for ideas.
• Support correspondents with interviews, coordination, script revision as well as supervising the editing.
• Field producer on locations when needed.
• Work with the local *** Production Support team for when additional technical support is needed such as extra audio personnel and gear.
• Be responsible for finding locations for live shots, prepare permits, location releases, and needed Insurance paperwork for those locations.

Your New Role...

The Producer for Food Network develops and creates new programming, and takes on production responsibilities on projects including: late seasons of established series, ITK programming, major revisions to new inventory, 'A level' reversions of acquisitions, new content based on existing library content, amongst others. Your Role Accountabilities...

Handle a prime time late season established series that continues to need production and editorial oversight. This includes working with production company and PMD on schedule, budget questions, casting, editorial screening, deliverables and working with all in house departments including talent relations, marketing, press, ad sales, scheduling and production management.

Handle 'A Level' program reversioning as assigned. Includes developing production schedule, working with Talent Relations to select and coordinate narrator/talent, working with editing department, collaborating with legal department to identify potential legal issues, supervising off-line, on-line, narration record and mix sessions.

Coordinate special projects such as internal/external presentation tapes for industry markets/events, quarterly tapes, corporate events, etc.

Facilitate program fixes (changes in narration, graphics, picture, and audio, as needed) and in-house editorial as required.

For assigned projects, manage project production schedule for contract compliance and overall project workflow. Track deliverables and communicate fulfillment of production milestones, production issues or changes, to project team members and manager.
