Financial news brand is seeking a skilled video journalist to contribute to our original video production. In this role, you will produce deeply-reported video features, in-depth explainers, newsmaker interviews, and recurring franchises. These originals will be expected to capture viewers' attention through their sharp perspective, approachable style, and clear relevance to the biggest investments and financial questions investors face. We're looking for an experienced, creative storyteller who knows how to engage digital video audiences in all formats. The goal is to create high-quality, headline-worthy video content that helps viewers stay informed about the latest trends in markets, business and finance. Strong candidates will be comfortable balancing a variety of projects and deadlines while working with partners across the newsroom.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of video production including, but not limited to pitching, reporting, writing, editing, shooting and more to produce engaging, informative videos.
- Regularly edit with Adobe Premiere and comfortable editing on deadline.
- Research, develop, and implement successful SEO strategies.
- Collaborate with reporters, DPs, studio, graphics, and more to elevate video storytelling.
- Write and vet scripts with legal and standards teams.
- Coordinate with the social team to amplify shareable content.
- Vet, book and pre-interview guests.
- Balance multiple projects with strong communication and collaboration
- Meticulous fact-checking and strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy prior to publishing
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Significant experience creating SEO-centric content and working in a digital news environment.
- 3 years of experience working in financial news.
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere.
- Hands-on experience with CMS and digital publishing tools.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required.
- Ability to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment.
- Ability to execute an efficient video production process to ensure clean, final delivery.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities, multiple projects, and tasks with ease.
