Experience on process shows is a must. Must be a one manned tech-savvy unit that can troubleshoot on the fly. You will be covering a five day small process build. ROLE DETAILS:
Understand and predict video production scope and budgeting so as to properly

Job Description
BYUtv is seeking an innovative and experienced freelance unscripted producer to work as a network producer for BYUtv. You will oversee a variety of unscripted programming from initial development through current production and final delivery. The producer will work directly with our internal content team at BYUtv and will work in close contact with our Director of Content and/or Executive Producers.

The primary focus for this position will be on BYUtv but the producer may be assigned to oversee projects for any BYU Broadcasting channel/property.

Assigned development and production activities include:
Casting and design

Job Description

*** Connecticut is looking for a tv and streaming producer to collaborate with our team of exceptional journalists to create engaging and compelling content for our broadcast and digital platforms.

Essential Functions:

Produce and write assigned segments, which may include digital newscasts.
Pitch compelling story ideas and guest segments
Participate in daily planning meetings and contribute ideas for news programming based on the *** Connecticut News Strategy.
Work closely with program's Executive Producer to determine the composition and flow of the newscast, to select video, to write and copy-edit stories.
Make certain program elements abide by *** Owned Television Stations News Guidelines as well as the *** Connecticut News Strategy.
Generate daily topicals and show graphics.
Be present in control room during news program and communicate with producer, director and production personnel.
Ensure video detail and news rundown is provided to editors and make certain all video is previewed for accuracy.
Use online and social *** tools to monitor and report news, find sources and leads for stories.
Monitor mainstream and social *** sites for story ideas and competitive intelligence.
Fill in as a producer when needed on other *** Connecticut newscasts

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years' experience in newsgathering and/or production.
Experience line-producing newscasts
Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent experience
