- Do you have any sales experience selling merchandise or retail?
Hey filmmakers! I'm doing a workshop and book reading at the Portland Film Festival on October 13 at 3pm. I need someone (or two people) to help me manage my merch table selling books during the talk and before/after. All money goes through Venmo or PayPal, so no need to worry about cash, etc. I'll also give you a free copy of my bestselling book, "Filmmaking Confidential." It'll be a lot of fun! The talk starts at 3pm and will end around 4:30 (if not before), so you'll want to be there 2:45pm and plan on staying until 4:45pm-ish.
About me:
Roger Ebert gave Steve’s film FIRECRACKER, starring Karen Black and Mike Patton, a Special Jury Award on his annual Best Films of the Year list. His first film PEP SQUAD premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and became a 90s cult classic. The U.S. Library of Congress selected his film THE CASSEROLE CLUB, starring Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys, for its permanent collection. Steve ranks #47 on the IMDb's Top 100 Gay and Lesbian director's working today.
Film Threat magazine says, “Balderson makes movies that are so gorgeous that it’s not unreasonable to say that, cinematographically at least; he’s the equal of an Argento or Kubrick in their prime. Some people have perfect vocal pitch, Steve has perfect visual composition.”
In 2022, Steve’s book “How to Find Investors” was published by Dikenga Books. His first book, “Filmmaking Confidential,” debuted as an Amazon and Audible best-seller. He is a contributor to The Advocate and MovieMaker magazines and has been a guest lecturer at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
