We are looking for a Freelance Production Assistant to be part of a one-year Rotational Program with the *** Weather Programming team. Job Description

As a Production Assistant, you will work with the production team to help deliver live and same day delay event coverage during the Olympic Games.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of 1 month during Games Time, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Research and build a variety of on-air graphic elements
Work with Chyron operator to deliver graphics in a live control room and to a post-production environment
Assist production personnel in all phases of Olympic sports production
Report to the show producer/associate producer and execute tasks needed to finalize and deliver shows for broadcast
Proactively develop and communicate ideas to improve broadcasts

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or related field
Minimum one(1) year ofgraphics experience in Sports Television Production, preferably in live control room and in post-production environments

Role Purpose:

The Production Assistant is responsible for assisting producers and editors in the development and execution of Olympic feature elements which will include long form, short form, and historic lookbacks. The primary focus of these pieces will be sponsored or promotional in nature. This position will be focused on post-production with the possibility of an occasional field or studio assignment.

Job Description

As a Production Assistant for Nightly News, you will work directly with the Executive Producer and Senior Producers to assist in the production of a live, 30-minute nightly broadcast.

Responsibilities:

Assist with production at shoots (coordinate, organize and provide editorial guidance)
Assist producers with gathering elements, logging, file video and imagery for news-of-day and feature spots
Learn Avid and develop desk edit skills to cut VO's and Teases for broadcast
Assist Digital team with desk editing digital cuts
Learn production assistant skills in the control room and studio during the broadcast
Pitch, research and develop stories for Nightly News broadcasts
Predict and fulfill additional needs to Executive Producer and Nightly News Rim
Arrange travel for multiple people on short notice for breaking news situations
Willingness and availability to work additional hours, at short notice as needed, for breaking news to help update the broadcast
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Qualifications

At least 1 year news production experience at the network level, preferably with an evening news broadcast
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Must be able to shoot and expected to edit on desktop
Proficient in Microsoft Office, iNews, and major social *** platforms
Must be willing and ableto work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news;abilityto work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice, if needed
