Scope of Work:

The Associate works closely with the Director and Production Manager, Educational Media and Technology (EMT), and members of the Weill Music Institute staff to contribute to the development, creation, and ongoing support of educational media initiatives that connect to all programmatic areas within Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI), including Early Childhood, Learning and Engagement, Social Impact, Special Projects, and Artist Training programs, as well as Ensemble Connect. The Associate is responsible for the implementation of a wide range of educational content reaching local, national, and international audiences of students, educators, families, young artists, and adult learners.

Responsibilities:

The Associate will collaborate with the EMT Director and Production Manager to support effective planning and implementation of the media and technology projects of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, including:

Coordinate and implement in-house audiovisual captures for a variety of platforms and formats;
Edit public-facing video content including performances, curricular videos, short documentaries, promotional videos, and program overviews; as well as shorter video edits for social media platforms;
Edit video content for internal use such as board and staff meetings, funder reporting, and program assessment;
Together with Production Manager, coordinate external production and post-production of digital educational content, including maintaining production schedules and communicating with vendors;
Organize and maintain digital assets and physical storage media; collaborate with the Archives department on the long-term storage of digital assets;
Manage and coordinate inventory of EMT production gear and technology resources, including scheduling and tracking the use of equipment;
Manage video captioning with external vendor, as well as other efforts to make content accessible to users with special needs;
Collaborate with Production Manager to implement and maintain Carnegie Hall’s video and social media platforms based on cross-departmental content strategy and best practices for platform optimization and accessibility;

Qualifications:

Professional experience with video project management in all phases of production, post-production, and distribution
Knowledge of filming equipment including cameras, audio recording tools, and basic lighting
Must have video editing experience
Experience with audio recording and music production technology is a plus
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite (especially Adobe Premiere Pro), file management platforms, and video distribution platforms
Familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize time-sensitive projects in a collaborative setting; Experience with project management strategy is a plus
Administrative experience, preferably within an education, community engagement, music and/or performing arts setting
Familiarity with issues pertaining to the use of digital media and technology in education and community engagement
Capacity to support and nurture professional relationships with artists, external contractors, production companies, media organizations, and other individuals and institutions
