Our company, Matador Network, is a leading travel media company and lifestyle brand—and we’re looking for a production coordinator to join our award-winning production studio team on an hourly basis with the goal of transitioning to a full-time on-retainer position. This is a freelance, remote position that will require travel to shoots on a semi-regular basis. Things you will be ROCKING:
Coordinating branded content production for video and still campaigns from beginning (ideation) to end (launch)
Supporting Supervising Producers and other team members
Collaborating with internal Matador teams including Matador Studios, social media, sales, ad operations, and accounting
Contributing to creative ideation and deck building
Building production schedules, budgets, timelines, and other campaign tools
Tracking projects in a project management tool (Asana)
Sourcing and hiring freelance crew members
Sourcing on-camera talent
Negotiating rates with production hires and vendors
Arranging travel for talent and crew
Attending shoots
Overseeing all on-location production needs as the team lead in the field
Overseeing COVID protocols throughout production process
Staying within an allotted production budget and tracking costs
Reporting costs regularly
Securing all necessary legal paperwork including location agreements, appearance releases, and COIs
Approving and processing invoices for crew per Matador’s standard operating procedures
Working with editors and sourcing post production assets such as music, graphics, etc.
Preparing a wrap book to the best of contractor’s ability (uploading all releases, contracts, and important paperwork, etc.)

You’re really good at:
Asking questions
Keeping a project moving from start to finish
Staying organized and detail oriented
Prioritizing when juggling multiple things at once
Managing crews in the field
Accurately reporting costs
Producing within a set budget
Staying professional and calm when the pressure is on
Communicating clearly and respectfully with everyone from high-level clients to day-player production assistants
Articulating clearly in emails and maintaining professional email etiquette
Enjoying yourself because life is too short to be too uptight. We do have the coolest jobs around, after all.

You have:
1+ years’ experience producing video content
Experience working as a production coordinator with large brand clients
Ability to communicate with your team using primarily Slack and email.
Proficiency and confidence using Dropbox, Google Drive - especially Sheets (or Excel) - and project management tools such as Asana
Familiarity with production tools (i.e. you can talk the talk) such as professional camera and audio equipment and editing programs.
Experience in a fast-moving and agile environment, such as at a start-up, agency, or media company
An interest in Matador’s voice, audience, and brand
A love for travel, adventure, and people!

Nuts and bolts:
Hourly to start with the goal of full-time independent contractor with monthly compensation.
Remote position (i.e., working from your home office).
Based in or willing to work on continental US time zone (working hours: ~9a – 5p in your home time zone).
