Brave New Films, a non-profit media organization that focuses on social justice documentaries and video, is seeking a co-producer/production manager for a short doc project currently in production. You will manage physical production of interviews featuring name talent and supervise some of post-production.
This will be a contracted freelance position with a part-time schedule over several weeks of production.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in collaboration with Director and Producer to execute the short doc concept.
Managing all aspects of pre-production and production of the film shoots, including sourcing locations, hiring crew and equipment, interfacing with talent and reps, call sheets, and being the on-set producer.
Handling all releases, permits, paperwork.
Managing expenses, tracking budget and production accounting.
Post supervision. Coordinating between director and editorial on cuts, graphics, archival clearance, fair use, and delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
Producing and Production Manager experience on documentary, narrative, digital media and/or television.
On set experience dealing with talent.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.
Proficiency in Google Suite, and management level knowledge of post workflows and systems.
Experience with doc scripting and basic editing on Premiere Pro a plus.

Seeking Field Production Manager for a show shooting internationally this summer. This is a field position on an outdoor / adventure program shooting in remote parts of the world where we may find ourselves without phone or internet service, quick/easy access to food or water, or accommodations other than a tent. Applicants should have relevant experience and know how to safely execute productions in extreme environments with limited resources and support staff. This is a fast-paced show with a lot of moving parts shooting 6-7 days per week some weeks, no fewer than 5 days other weeks.
Team Structure:
15 field crewpersons
5 castmembers
4 support staff in office (Producers, Production)
Job Description includes but not limited to:
-Set Operations and Logistics
-Call Sheet and Production Report creation and distribution
-Petty cash and P Card reconciliation
-Managing Safety Officer / Medic to ensure safe set operations, Safety POAs including proper Risk Assessment and Management and Response Plans for each location where we're filming
-Working with travel coordinator to assist with travel coordination
-Wearing other hats as minimally needed on set, such as assisting with moving / setting up gear, helping with minimal props and wardrobe, etc.
-Working with catering company to ensure meal schedules, allergies, orders, etc.
-Working with crew to ensure department needs are met
-Assisting with work visas, carnets, and customs
Applicants must:
-have relevant work experience on a minimum of 2 shows in past 5 years with similar remote conditions
-have minimum of 5 years experience as Production Manager in unscripted television
-have worked with Risk Assessment companies and developed Safety Plans of Action for filming locations
-have ability to think quickly on feet and make strategic decisions to execute the creative of the show safely and effectively
-be a team player willing to wear multiple hats and help each department as necessary
-be kind and professional on set, be able to keep calm in high stress situations
