Job DescriptionThe Production Manager supports *** and reports to the *** Director, Production Management. Responsibilities include forecasting, planning, and coordinating in-person and virtual production projects. Responsibilities could also include but are not limited to:
• Remote production management for *** . Conduct sight surveys, vendor hiring, travel arrangements, assemble crew, and coordination with technical department. Must be available to travel with production team for surveys and remote shoots as needed.
• Support *** Events group with in-person and virtual production management related issues.
• Supporting show EPs on planning and coordinating future production needs such as events, remote productions, road shows, specials, etc.
• Provide production support to *** producers and management on breaking news or special one-time programming projects.
• Work with *** Finance team on budgeting special projects and remotes including controlling/negotiating/tracking actual expenditures on these events
- Work with Editorial and Finance teams to align budgets with requirements, schedules, and milestones for assigned productions
- Handle budget negotiation with project vendors
- Prepare production plans, schedules, and milestones
- Work with Manager, Production Analysis to ensure expenses are being captured appropriately
- Anticipate areas of potential savings or overages and report to direct supervisor
- Liaise *** ween producers and internal departments as needed (e.g. Network, Finance, Business & Legal)
- Liaise with legal for production-related questions and needs, such as Independent Contractor Agreements
- Make sure productions obtain appropriate legal documentation (e.g. Certificates of Engagement, location agreements, etc)
- Work with management to provide additional areas of support
Qualifications• Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in production management or line producer for a broadcast and/or cable network OR equivalent experience within a production company
• Prior experience with financial budgeting, forecasting and management of budgets
• Ability to execute on production plans
• Exhibits knowledge of production operations and planning
• Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Internet search engines
• Exhibits working knowledge of health and safety requirements
• Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
• Willingness to travel and on weekends with short notice
