Production Manager
The New Media Firm, an award-winning progressive political ad agency, is seeking an experienced Production Manager.
The Production Manager will oversee logistics related to the planning, production, editing and delivery of television, online video and radio ads for the Firm’s clients.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a friendly group of dedicated professionals to make a difference through our work with progressive political candidates, non-profits, and labor unions. The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of relevant experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
• Shoot Scheduling: Work with colleagues to schedule video shoots & manage production calendar.
• Budgeting: Create shoot budgets & track costs for crew, equipment, travel, etc. Track crew timecards, vendor invoices, staff travel charges. Track post-production costs for editing, footage, music, voice over & other post services.
• Sourcing Crew & Gear: Source and book film crews for shoots around the country; source necessary equipment rentals; create shoot schedules & call sheets.
• Location & Talent: Coordinate with clients to find shoot locations; assist with finding & vetting on-camera extras/volunteers; draft shoot prep memos for clients.
• Post-Production: Schedule editors; book time with post-production facilities; book voice over talent; maintain post-production calendar; assist with sourcing of stock footage, music and other assets; manage delivery of footage & assets to editors; maintain stock footage & music libraries; assist with maintenance of edit systems as necessary.
• Ad Delivery: Coordinate with editors to output required versions & formats. Coordinate delivery of final outputs to digital team for trafficking online, and to TV/cable through Extreme Reach.
• Other: Assist with marketing proposals. Opportunity to delve into script writing, creative development and spot production.
Experience and Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in video production
• Experience working on political, advocacy, or union campaigns is a plus
• Must be a self-starter with a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a team
• Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel
• Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to work evenings & weekends as needed
• Limited travel may be required
• This is a Washington, D.C.-based position
