Job Description

Role Purpose

The Research Coordinator will provide full administrative support to the SVP, Entertainment Research & Decision Sciences for the Entertainment Networks ( *** , Bravo, E!, Oxygen, SYFY, Universal Kids, & USA) and serve as liaison with both internal constituents and external vendors. Additionally, this person will have the opportunity to generate and distribute reports and analyze viewership across age, gender, and other demographics, using both television ratings and digital data.

Responsibilities:

• Support administrative needs of SVP, Entertainment Research & Decision Sciences by professionally answering phones, preparing all correspondence, expenses and travel arrangements, and coordinating calendars, including meetings and appointments
• Assist in ongoing operations of the office/team, including ensuring conference rooms are coordinated and equipped to handle virtual/in-person hybrid meetings
• Coordinate IT and facilities services for department, and order team office supplies as needed
• Ideate, plan and execute on department events/experiences to drive team culture
• Track and file Research department invoices, and manage department project budget
• Facilitate RFP (request for proposal) process with research vendors

• Manage, execute, and proofread research reports and projects as assigned

• Deliver materials to preview upcoming events and shows to anticipate trends, identify storylines to follow, and add context to developing angles.
• Proactively identify and suggest solutions to address potential coverage angles and storylines

Qualifications:

Key WDB Corporate Accounting leadership position focusing on Corporate Accounting and Consolidation functions. The position requires strong accounting and research skills and making critical decisions on accounting treatment and processes to comply with WBD accounting standards andensuring that the books and records of the company are maintained in compliance with US GAAP. This position works closely with senior executives and other functional Global Business Systems (GBS) teams to resolve complex accounting issues. Your Role Accountabilities

• Lead monthly close process and oversee and review journal entries and adjustments for the corporate accounting function. Areas of focus include but not limited to intangible assets and other misc. corporate accounting areas which requires constant communications with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury and Operations with results that impact all segments of WBD.
  
• Provide corporate accounting representation in ad hoc projects in the areas of internal and external merger, acquisitions, divestitures, legal entity reorganizations and rationalizations, and intercompany financing/capitalization activities, to ensure balances are accurately maintained for US GAAP and consolidated reporting purposes.
  
• Lead the recording of intercompany loan arrangements within the Company's Kyriba treasury management system. Work with tax, treasury and legal to ensure balances and activity are accurate and maintained in compliance with Company policies.
  
• Perform corporate accounting processes and controls over the Company's reconciliation application(s), including updating the reconciliation risk rating model.
  
• Provide accounting perspective and support on currency related matters, including consultation and review of new entity functional currency determinations.
  
• Responsible for reinforcing the WBD Controllership culture through sponsorship and involvement in cross-department development and team-building programs.
  
• Provide leadership guidance and sponsorship to ad hoc and recurring Controllership improvement projects including software implementation, efficiency initiatives and process improvements
  

Qualifications & Experience

• CPA Required
• Approximately 5+ years previous work experience in an accounting environment required.
• Public and/or private accounting experience required
• Financial closing, consolidations, reporting and planning experience
• Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and SOX requirements
• BS/BA in related discipline from an accredited university
• Strong US GAAP accounting knowledge with experience interpreting and implementing technical accounting guidance to non-routine transactions

Your New Role...

The Tier 3 Global Special Operations Technician is a key member of the Customer Experience (CX) Strategy & Ops team within the *** Discovery Direct-to-Consumer organization. They will have an integral role in providing escalation support for inquiries that cannot be resolved by frontline support tiers during the hours of 9:00 am - 6:00 pm BST, as well as weekly on-call rotations. This individual will be a core contributor within the Tier 3 CX Special Operations team and will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure business-side issues are surfaced, triaged, and tracked until resolution is achieved. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation of both technical and customer ser *** experience. They will have the ability to resolve complex issues with professionalism and poise. Your Role Accountabilities...

• Serve as an escalation point for business-side issues escalated from Advanced Support and Frontline Operations during the hours of 10:00 am - 7:00 pm EST, Thursday through Monday.
  
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation with other team members. On-call rotations will occur at most every 3 weeks and require a response time within 15 minutes.

• Follow internal best practices to ensure Tier 3 responsibilities are maintained and knowledge remains current.
