Job Description
Spiegelworld is looking for a Series Producer to lead its newly created Unscripted Television Unit in Las Vegas which will tell Spiegelworld’s stories through weekly videos created for its own digital channels and video-on-demand platforms. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the production unit and ensure that content is made as creatively as possible while adhering to the budget, hitting deadlines and meeting all legal, compliance, health and safety requirements. This individual must be a hands-on leader, a storyteller, an excellent communicator and brand champion who can get the best out of people and continually drive execution. The Series Producer will be responsible for spearheading story ideas, and coordinating all production unit staff, resources and activities. This position will report to Spiegelworld’s Head of Creative but will also work closely with the team at our external project partner company who will be undertaking creative content consultation and digital channel management on our behalf.
Responsibilities
This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Driving the creative video content for our new digital platform.
- Managing the editorial team and making content decisions.
- Driving research, reviewing and editing scripts plus overseeing filming.
- Establishing shooting style.
- Liaising with various heads of departments to locate and choose appropriate video stories across the various -
divisions of the organization.
- Building a close and collaborative relationship with the organization’s executives plus key department heads, creative teams and performers within the organization.
- Scripting and crafting stories for the project independently and as directed.
- Briefing producers and cameras in the field plus produce stories when required.
- Providing feedback on edits and scripts and compiling episodes, ensuring all stakeholder feedback is addressed.
- Compiling post-shoot notes, story overviews and updating the master story list during production.
- Scheduling and overseeing editors and edit assistants to meet the project’s deadlines.
- Managing the budget
- Preparing OHS materials and undertaking OHS tasks as required and instructed for specific production tasks including, where you are the senior member of the team on location, assuming responsibility for:
- Conducting a shoot/field/site inspection and walkthrough when appropriate.
- Ensuring all crew have received and reviewed the call sheet and targeted Risk Assessment (if applicable).
- Conducting a post-shoot debrief.
- Undertaking and overseeing all facets of post-producing in relation to the project.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
Requirements
- Experience producing a TV / Documentary/ Lifestyle/ non-scripted show or series which included credits.
- Experience with Digital Content is preferred.
- Ability to film and edit would be preferable but not essential.
- Must be a self-starter and excellent multi-tasker, full of good ideas and open to new ideas, with strong editorial judgment, and a good eye for spotting potential compliance or legal issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and with our partners.
- Proven people management, motivation, and development skills so as to be an inspirational leader to your team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always-changing, never dull, creative environment.
- Broad interest and keen eye for stories from various sources is essential.
- Following a conditional offer of employment, able to show proof of being fully vaccinated, able to get vaccinated within 7 days, or have a qualifying medical or religious exception.
- Willing to participate in employer-paid COVID-19 Mitigation protocols which include weekly testing and onsite screening.
- Must have valid work authorization for the US.
