We are currently searching for a fulltime Audio Operator for *** TV Chicago's Very Own newscasts.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to listen to director's commands and react swiftly and accurately. The primary responsibility is mixing live newscasts for *** . Must be able to mix a clean show during live and pre-recorded programming. Must be able to route a good mix minus to remotes, set up RF microphones and IFBs. Experience with Wheatstone audio boards preferred. Additional responsibilities include Audio Assist.
The audio operator should add creativity and ideas that enhance the final product. Candidate should be a problem solver and quick thinker to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live news.
A flexible work schedule is required, including early mornings, nights and weekends to meet the 24/7 operational needs.
Qualifications: - Three plus ( 3 +) years' experience in professional live television broadcast operations required.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field preferred.
- You must be detail-oriented and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of common business software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be self-sufficient and have a press-on-regardless attitude.
- Must work well in a collaborative team environment.
The Chicago facility originates three national television networks and *** -TV/Channel 9.
This position is a fulltime position which will require membership in IBEW.
