We will be documenting an exclusive event for a fashion brand which will be held near Colonne Vendôme in Paris. There will be interviews with celebrity guests, and our team would like to ensure the best possible audio quality in the spontaneous circumstances. Someone with extensive work experiences in documentaries would be great!

Looking for a sound recordist for a 1-day shoot near Marshall / Point Reyes Station. Must be willing to be nimble and mobile -- we will be at a single location for the full day, but will be filming at several spots within this location.

Bulk of the shooting will involve 2x talent wading through mud flats and talking while harvesting oysters (boots will be provided). There will also be a sit-down interview between the 2x talent after the oyster harvesting scenes.

Overall project is a documentary series exploring climate change and how it has affected the food we grow and eat.

This shoot is funded by a grant from a non-profit.

Basically, this is a 5-page short film for an NYU certificate course with a small cast and crew. Our DP is shooting on an iPhone 15 in 4K.

FYI on the budget - I am a SAG-AFTRA actor and I am paying for this out of pocket, we're on the SAG Micro Budget Agreement and while that has no minimums, I am paying the actors $16/hr. I know everyone deserves better pay, I'm just doing the best I can with what I've got. I am happy to recommend people I've worked with before when I hear of other jobs.

Our DP has a mixer Tascam DR-60DmkII with 2 lavs and a Rode Mic as basic shotgun. He was thinking he could do it himself but is a little concerned about troubleshooting and making sure we're not losing sound while wearing too many hats.

We need someone familiar enough with this and sound to handle sound recording on set, or if you have your own equipment and are interested we can discuss that as well. I don't have a lot of room on the budget but can't hurt to discuss.

I would also be open to a recent grad who knows sound and is trying to build up list of credits. I am basically looking for a nice person who wants to do this and is confident in their skills for this role.

You would be needed a full day on Saturday, Sept 7. I'm still confirming but we will most likely start around 11:30am in Manhattan at a event space for a bar scene until 4pm, then will company move (via Uber I pay for) to Brooklyn to film in an unfinished basement and an alley until hopefully no later than 9pm but again, I haven't nailed down the schedule yet.

In addition to flat rate of pay (which I can venmo/paypal at the end of the shoot) I will provide coffee, snacks and dinner for cast and crew.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Under the general direction of an assigned supervisor design, install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify all types of specialized equipment in a digital television studio, motion picture sound stage, post-production facility, viewing rooms, and all other film, television, and audio productions.

There is currently one full-time (40 hours/week, 12 months/year) vacancy located at Moorpark College, pending Board approval.

Representative Duties

Design, operate, and install a wide variety of digital and analog equipment used in a digital TV studio, field productions, recording studio, radio station, and post-production facility. This includes, but is not limited to digital cameras, video production switchers, digital time-base delays, solid-state storage devices, sync generators, character generators, on-demand systems, studio and remote camera control units, studio and field lighting (including power distribution), dimming, rigging and instruments, sound, audio, and podcasting microphones and mixers, video projectors, and computers. E

Prepare equipment and materials for use by students and faculty in the laboratories, and ensures equipment is assembled correctly, operated safely, and returned properly. E

Demonstrate proper use and care of materials, equipment, supplies, and software to instructors and students. E

Inspect, clean, adjust, maintain, and make minor repairs on a variety of equipment. Determine when repairs are necessary and schedules vendors to provide more complex repairs as needed, and serves as a liaison with equipment services providers, vendors, and suppliers. E

Analyze and diagnose engineering and software problems using schematics and logic probes down to the circuit level. E

Use operational manuals, schematic drawings, and diagnostic equipment and software to locate equipment malfunctions. E

Calibrate equipment using oscilloscopes, voltage meters, current meters, signal generators, digital logic analyzers, and audio and spectrum analyzers. E

Consult with faculty on specific needs of supplies and equipment. Research, order, receive, and store all course, broadcasting, streaming, podcasting, audio, radio, and on-location filming supplies, materials and equipment, in an orderly condition. E

Download, store and maintain media and data records for post-production editing and courses. E

Maintain a variety of records for inventory, purchasing, and repairs, including a detailed inventory of all media production equipment; oversee procedures for issuing and receiving equipment and supplies to students and instructors. E

Troubleshoot equipment problems during class, on-location student productions, and campus productions. E

Consult with faculty on specific needs of student workers. Interview and hire the student workers with the consultation of faculty. Train and provide work direction to student workers. E

Monitor the use of software by students in the editing laboratories and provide technical support to help complete projects. E

Determine appropriate recording and rehearsal schedules for studio, portable and remote units and systems. E

Design and fabricate special audio and visual systems for production, editing and remote recording functions. E

Set up and prepare studio and television control room for production; support the editing of television productions.?E

May support students in video production techniques; provide technical direction related to set design, lighting design and audio mixing techniques. E

An associate degree or equivalent college units (60 semester or 90 quarter units) from a recognized college or university with a major in media arts, broadcasting, cinema, film, television, or a related field, AND two years of professional experience working in a digital media setting such as a television station, studio, or production company which includes experience recording and editing video and audio content.

We are seeking a sound mixer at a vendor booth at Twitch Con (gaming convention) at the San Diego Convention center.

Dates: September 20th - 22nd

You will be stationed at the exhibitor booth alongside a camera operator and a producer as they document/get coverage of the event (ENG style), activations, and interviews, etc.
