Job Description The Photographer is an on-site, in-house role that supports Dotdash *** 's product testing program as we expand our portfolio of unbiased product testing and reviews, focusing on original content and visual assets. This is an ideal opportunity for an organized, proactive individual who has the desire to gain experience in a fast-paced *** , product testing and production environment.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of proven professional photography experience that is proficient in the latest camera technologies and photography softwares.
This role is required to be onsite. Candidates must be able to commute daily to New York
Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, the Photographer supports all day-to-day Lab activities, from pre- through post-production, working with editors, testers, and production crews. This includes but is not limited to:
About the Role:- Take the brief to understand specifications and work closely with stakeholders to develop the concept
- Work with producers & associate creative director to formulate creative and capture product testing and product shots according to production schedule
- Must be able to adhere to style guides and should be comfortable producing a natural aesthetic that doesn't look too commercial or overly produced
- Constantly improve image quality using various editing and lighting methods
- Use and maintain modern and traditional technical equipment (cameras, lenses etc)
- Able to independently select and style props that create cohesive brand story
- Create lighting and select backgrounds that adhere to photography guideline specifications
- Direct participants of the product tests to achieve best possible images
- Archive photographic images and contribute to Digital Asset Management database
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures
About You: - 5 years of proven professional shooting experience
- Eye-catching portfolio
- Proficient with the latest camera technologies (Canon or Nikon)
- Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Capture One or other photography specific software
- Must have in-depth understanding of lighting people and products, and must be able to use studio strobe lighting to replicate natural daylight if necessary, including documented lighting schematics, and where necessary, standardized camera placement, to insure consistency
- Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques
- Knowledge of production process for online publishing
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and maintain flexibility
- Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods of time and be able to lift upwards of 25lbs
- Photography degree or similar preferred

Pay Range Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash *** 's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
