Havoc Robotics is a content and entertainment company focused on combat robotics currently centered around a series of seven tournaments hosted in Norwalk, CT, and streamed live to a virtual audience through YouTube and other platforms. The league was launched in late 2018 as a small, grassroots tournament with 13 robots, and has since grown exponentially - we’ve hosted 850 robots across 22 events, each designed and built by a diverse, highly engaged community. Upward of 350 spectators attend each of our events at our HQ in Norwalk, CT, in addition to an online following and highly engaged livestream audience in the tens of thousands.

We are looking for a Broadcast Production Engineer to provide support and maintenance to our high-end infrastructure of broadcast/livestream systems. This is a great position for someone with a background in electrical engineering looking for a junior-level position, who is eager to learn and expand their skill-set in a hands-on role, open to a non-traditional/flexible schedule (including some scheduled late-night or weekend work), and able to work 90% of the time from our HQ in Norwalk, CT.

Responsibilities:
- Support infrastructure for on-air broadcast production systems
- Support Live Control Room production systems and subsystems
- Support infrastructure systems including routers, intercom, monitoring, audio suites and other live production related gear
- Respond to, communicate, manage, and track technical issues as they arise, sometimes after hours or on weekends
- Perform maintenance of subsystems including software and hardware updates, modifications and replacements as warranted
- Implement and maintain process standards for deployment, and develop support documentation for operations personnel as needed
- Be part of a team that works hands-on with the latest generation of production systems and technologies
- Collaborate and share responsibilities effectively with a team of mechanical and software engineers.

Skills:
- You are comfortable with current media technologies, concepts and emerging trends (i.e Media over IP, Cloud Computing, etc.)

JOB DESCRIPTION
**** *** 26, the *** O&O located in Houston, TX, has an opening for a Full-Time Production Technician to join our news team. Responsibilities of the position include switching and coding with the Ross Overdrive Automation System. Duties will also include but not limited to audio, knowledge of Chyron graphics operation software, robotic camera operation, tune-in microwave live shots, lighting, flooring for live newscast and pre-recorded programming.

Prior broadcast experience in a live control room environment as a traditional director / technical director along with mixing sound for live newscast within a medium to large market experience is preferred. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours; early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays may be required. Will also be required to cover vacation & sick leave and all other duties as assigned. Looking for someone with strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks under high pressure while maintaining a team approach to all assignments. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

TheTechnical Managerwill provide front-line management of personnel, facilities, equipment, operations, and technology for a customer driven production operations group. This individual will coordinate all technical and logistical requirements prior to air and then in the control rooms to ensure that all technical aspects of the production go as planned.

For assigned program(s), work closely with all show personnel in planning programs and scheduling manpower resources including field crews, edit rooms, control rooms and production *** .

Qualifications/Requirements

• 7+ years experience in live, studio television production experience
• 7+ years experience in engineering support and operational experience in broadcast studio and production control room
• 5+ years experience with field/remote production processes and equipment (including satellite/telco and communications) experience
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Must understand digital production and file-based workflows in FCP environment
• Must have proficient computer skills, including Apple, Outlook, MS Word, Excel
• Must have strong administrative and organizational skills
• Must have managerial skills
• Must be willing to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Desired Experience and Skills

A two-year degree in a technical profession desired
Five years' experience as an engineer in a broadcast facility
Functional knowledge of current television broadcast systems including production control room automation systems, house video/audio distribution, studio equipment including cameras, wired and wireless audio gear, CATV systems, air control and airpath systems, satellite transmission and reception, etc.
Ross Overdrive automation systems, MOS Workflow, ENPS, Bitcentral, Wheatstone WheatNET devices or equal experience desired
Ross Tessera and LED Videowalls/Processors experience a plus
Expert troubleshooting skills and ability to understand system drawings required
Excellent IT skills including knowledge of operating systems, software, and IP networking
Working knowledge of common television test equipment including signal generators/ analyzers, scopes, etc.
Proficiency and experience performing cable installations, soldering, crimping cable connectors, including cable documentation, labeling, post-installation commissioning and testing processes, etc.
Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform work that may require use of a ladder
Ability to stand for long periods while performing tasks
