Preferred, Skills and/or Experience:

Education/Experience:

• 1-3 years of practical experience in Broadcasting or equivalent experience in television production
• Interest in and knowledge of live news/event production and advanced knowledge of both Mac and PC based editing systems (Final Cut Pro, News Edit, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.) and general knowledge of other applications within the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Work closely with other station staff to prepare and direct all live and pre-recorded shows. Shows include, but are not limited to daily news/commentary programming, breaking news cut-ins using Tricaster T2 Elite.
• Manage assigned tasks in a dynamic newsroom environment while demonstrating the ability to multi-task as well as the ability to handle change in a timely manner.

Haunted Soiree is an immersive theater program featuring comedians, actors, singers, musicians, improv actors, and background actors. This is the first season this project is in DC (first in Chicago, second in Nashville and Seattle, third in New York and Dallas, and forth in Los Angeles), and we are so excited. Responsibilities of the position include switching and coding with the Ross Overdrive Automation System. Duties will also include but not limited to audio, knowledge of Chyron graphics operation software, robotic camera operation, tune-in microwave live shots, lighting, flooring for live newscast and pre-recorded programming.

Prior broadcast experience in a live control room environment as a traditional director / technical director along with mixing sound for live newscast within a medium to large market experience is preferred. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours; early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays may be required. Will also be required to cover vacation & sick leave and all other duties as assigned. Looking for someone with strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks under high pressure while maintaining a team approach to all assignments. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Must be able to work independently, but in a team environment while monitoring and scrubbing multiple stations with Vela and iTX Desktop clients, per standard operating procedures, with focus on quality of service. Use Manage Engine ticketing software to make changes to traffic logs as requested by Traffic and Promotions departments. Will work closely with management and notify and escalate FCC compliance, automation, transmission and other issues that are critical to the operations. Take initial steps to troubleshoot issues pertaining to iTX automation and perform other duties as assigned by management.

2-3 years master control or other broadcast experience and ability to follow standardized processes and procedures required to ensure FCC compliance of stations served. Knowledge and understanding of automation systems (preferably Grass Valley iTX) and familiarity with broadcast systems such as DASDEC EAS, Vela monitoring, discrepancy software (preferably Pikolo) and health reporting software (preferably Statmon). Must be able to proficiently operate multiple PCs. Have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as well as Adobe Acrobat is required. Must possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple and concurrent tasks with in-depth troubleshooting skills.
