Your Role Accountabilities:

LIVE/TAPED PRODUCTIONS

Set up and operate production switchers and all associated technical equipment in a Production Control Room and/or Live Location environment during live game and/or studio broadcast productions. Orchestrate control room set up while simultaneously evaluating and assigning all video inputs taking into consideration timing and video levels.
Collaborates with the Director and Producer to execute the technical and artistic vision for each live game and/or studio production.
Lead the technical portion of the production team during the production set up and coordinate the faxing of their equipment and show elements since their equipment and work passes through the production switcher.
Collaborate with A1, V1, and other production entities needed for the technical fax to verify all video and audio signals are routed correctly and making it to their final destinations.
During a live game and/or studio broadcast productions recall video sources, transitions and effects and route studio monitors as instructed by Show Director. Continuously monitoring all sources used during the production to ensure all video levels look correct and stay in timing which include external feeds (NBATV Arena Link/Satellite/Bonded Cellular/Etc.)
Must be able to handle the pressures of live programming and limited time constraints

COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION

Work closely with the Technical Operations and Production (BEST) Engineering to identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems for Live Location, PCRs and Studio productions. Making sure each problem is resolved to completion.
Collaborates with Production (BEST) Engineering, Technical Operations and Production Management to identify and special order any equipment needed for live game and/or studio broadcast productions.
Effective communicator across teams

PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES

Creates documentation on switcher builds, effects builds and set up of the switcher for each broadcast production

Qualifications & Experiences:

Minimum of 3 years of network level broadcast experience operating as a Technical Director for live game, live remote and/or live studio productions

Desired Experience and Skills:

Knowledge of current news operations, *** production, streaming and IT systems including Ross Overdrive, Florical automation, ENPS newsroom, Bitcentral production and playout , studio and control room equipment, cameras, wired and wireless audio gear, master control and airpath systems, satellite transmission, and streaming encoders , etc.
Wheatstone and Calrec audio, Ross Xpression/Tessera and LED Videowalls/Processors experience a plus
Troubleshooting skills and ability to understand system drawings
Must be able to read and understand schematic and signal-flow diagrams
Knowledge of remote feed technology including Dejero, TVU, Haivision, etc is desirable
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Understanding of IP LAN/VLAN/WAN/VPN networking setups and architecture is a plus
IT skills including IP networking concepts and equipment, switches, KVMs, network storage systems, RAID systems, administration, Windows and Linux platforms, etc. is desirable
Working knowledge of common television test equipment including signal generators/analyzers, scopes, etc.
Understanding of software applications for *** production and distribution
Good verbal, written, and people skills plus working as part of a collaborative team
Experience in systems integration and installation a plus

Requirements:

Five (5) years' experience as an IT technician or maintenance engineer in a *** facility is desired
An Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is a plus
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Knowledge of common business software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)

This position will require shift work which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, along with overtime as situations will sometimes require .

JOB DESCRIPTION

Amazing Opportunity for a Production Technician @ *** 35 Orlando! Working in the Engineering department the ideal candidate will have working knowledge of AM, PM News and other show formats. Receive and implement directives from Director over headset. Will have the ability to communicate clearly and coherently in person and on headset. Will anticipate the needs of the Director. Ensure that talent and guests microphones have charged batteries, that microphones are on proper frequency, turned on properly and have corresponding IFB's (when applicable). Conduct proper studio microphone and live-remote audio checks prior to air and inform director im *** tely if any source is not suitable for air. Ensure talent is on the set, miked and informed of the cues in use. Prior to air, verify that all studio equipment is working properly. QC audio levels and mix using QC monitor in audio booth. Ensure all RTS panels are labeled correctly with proper studio or remote talent prior to live or taped broadcasts. Update music request playlists on a daily basis with music requested from executive producers. Know camera-blocking positions for newscasts. Ensure camera shots are in focus and framed according to camera directives from Director. Create creative bump shots along with standard formatted shots. Change batteries in microphones and IFB's when necessary. Leave studio, PCR and audio booth clean, orderly and safe at the end of the newscast or production taping. Be familiar with Sony ELC coding and show execution to fill in as needed. Make minor repairs to IFB's, microphones, monitors and audio board as needed. Operate prompter when talent is unable to do so as assigned. Understand basics of lighting panel. Maintain audio booth, prop room, cameras and prompters. Interact effectively and professionally with talent, producers and crew.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Regularly stand; walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; and; talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS: Basic understanding of television production and production automation system.

EDUCATION: College degree or equivalent experience in television.

OTHER: Ability to operate a broad range of production equipment.

Responsibilities:

Provide ongoing support for a 24/7 television broadcast facility including the installations of new systems.
Install, configure, and maintain television broadcast systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

At least five years of broadcast maintenance experience in a live environment
