How you'll make an impact: The Innovation Group at *** is seeking an Engineering or Design Intern to be part of a development team working on next generation chipsets and modules for vehicle entertainment systems. The Intern will be working with a cross-functional design team while learning or expanding their knowledge of Cadence based ECAD schematic capture and physical layout tool skills.
What you'll do: - You will contribute to all phases of PCB design and production
- Knowledge or Desire to Learn the Cadence Allegro Schematic Capture and Allegro Layout tool
- Responsible for generating libraries (Schematic and Footprint symbols and pad stacks)
- Maintain an expanding company-wide library
- Perform high-density routing following industry standard best practice design rules consisting of a mixture of different types of technology boards, thru hole, surface mount technology and mixed with possibly blind and buried vias
- Understand a wide range of PCB Technologies, from very simple two-layer, single sided placement, to multi-layer double sided placement
- Perform PCB file generation and prepare for files for manufacture such as Gerber, ODB, fab and assembly drawings
- Resolve DFM and manufacturing related issues
- Participate in system design reviews
- Interface closely with other teams such as Electrical, Mechanical and Manufacturing teams
What you'll need:- Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by September 2025 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
- Course of study could be practical Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical), Electronics, Technical Design, or similar.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
At *** , we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be $37-40/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
