How 2 Media, the creators of the television program, "World's Greatest!...", is looking for a seasoned lead videographer as well as an assistant for an upcoming shoot in Greenville, South Carolina. The 2-person crew selected will end up getting paid and receiving IMDB credits.
We are looking to film on a date that works for you and the client, in November 2021.
ABOUT OUR COMPANY: How 2 Media has been around for the last 15 years, and our main thing is the television program “World’s Greatest!…”, but we also do commercials, corporate videos, web design and maintenance, and more.
ABOUT OUR SHOW: “World’s Greatest!…” has been around for 15 years and films in a magazine-style, where we feature a company in a 3 to 4 minute segment. The best thing I can tell you would be to go to the show’s website, and see how our segments and shows come out.
FILMING DAY: I always keep filming days realistic. Meaning; everything in the shot list will be able to be accomplished in a normal 8-hour timeframe of filming. The actual filming day is 9-hours, but that includes a 1 hour break for the crew. If something is exceeding the normal hours, you will know about it ahead of time, and we would charge overtime ($200 per hour). Normally what we do is give you $150 for each hour of overtime and we take $50 for each hour. If the client wants something special like a jib or a drone, it’s going to cost additional. So I will ask you ahead of time for additional costs, and then approach them about the cost, and we’ll go from there. I will never just give them a price without consulting you first. Usually a filming day has up to 3 interviews, but the number of interviews is going to greatly depend on how much b-roll we need to film. The end result of the segment is 3 to 4 minutes in length, so as much onus as the clients put on who they want interviewed, I put the onus on b-roll. We obviously need great visuals to tell the story well, so that’s part of how I teach the clients about what truly matters in a filming day.
NEEDS FOR FILMING:
A: 2 person film crew (lead videographer and assistant)
B: lav mics (wireless mics)
C: minimal lighting for interview(s)
D: HD camera, capable of filming 1080/30p
E: Liability Insurance - we film with government agencies and entities, and they require us and you to have liability insurance.
F: Upload capabilities - after a filming, we would have you upload the files to our Google Drive.
PAY: Our filming days usually run from 9am-6pm, with a 1-hour break for the film crew. In most cases, you will interview up to 3 people in the morning, and the rest of the day will be filming b-roll. When first establishing a relationship with a film crew, we pay 50% before the filming and 50% after all footage is electronically delivered. We do this for the first 3 shoots, and then we move to paying upon electronically delivery of footage. We can pay via Check or PayPal. Once trust is built, we move things to our normal operation of payment, which is to send out payments in the last week of a month. For a normal day, we pay $1100 for the 2-person film crew.
PREPARATION FOR FILMING: Part of my job is to prepare the film crew as well as the client, for the upcoming filming. Clients work with me personally, for months, prior to filming. In that time, I do all I can to prepare them, and then I relay the entire game plan to them as well as the film crew. I do this through an email called the Big Email. That email has multiple attachments including the Script, Questions, Shoot Information, Shot Checklist, Color Psychology, Film Prep List, and even a Model Release template. Even with doing all I do in order to prepare clients, some of them don’t listen. I am always here to help with that, and make your job as easy as possible.
