*** News is seeking a Writer, r esponsible for writing copy for daily newscasts.

**** YOU'LL DO:

• Write day-of trending news stories, prompter intros, outros, and polishing all copy for entire program including scripts for field shoots
• Write catchy headlines for topics
• Assist in the incorporation of any changes to copy as requested by producers/editors
• Establish and maintain consistent brand tone and style in copy
• Copyedit scripts and work with other staff and production personnel to improve and refine the elements of programs to conform to specific quality standards and time requirements.
• Pitch stories weekly and attend all daily pitch meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

**** YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Three to five years of experience writing for broadcast television preferred

• Able to review and polish producers, correspondents, and hosts copy for all studio and field shoots.

Write compelling, succinct, clear news scripts under tight deadlines. Write stories according to station policies, editorial style and rundown. Research and evaluate news stories and sources. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have the following experience and skills:
• At least 2 years of television news writing.
• Experience on Inews/ENPS or equivalent news computer system.
• Ability to create clear, compelling, succinct news stories from raw materials including: unedited video, reporter notes, desk notes, telephone interviews, wire copy.
• Writing style that is straightforward uses active voice and is conversational.
• Experience working with video editing systems.

Job Description

E! News is looking for an experienced, passionatecandidate to join the NY digital news team in a hybrid weekend writer/editor role. This person will be responsible for writing and publishing content daily while editing junior writers and conducting interviews for E! Online. This person will also spearhead E!'s weekend coverage, working Saturday-Wednesday.

The ideal candidate has experience working in entertainment, strong news judgment and an understanding of the E! audience. They will also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and use data-driven analysis and social conversations to determine content and pitch ideas. The candidate will work well in team settings and also on their own, thriving in the autonomy of the weekends, when they will be the driving force *** ween our coverage.

Responsibilities :

• Write and publish 5-7 pieces of content daily, ranging from trending news stories and galleries to interviews and breaking news

*** Sunday Morning is seeking an experienced freelance writer with exceptional writing and strong communication skills to be an integral part of the editorial team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Craft copy and write introductions to segments airing in our weekly 90-minute broadcast for Anchor Jane Pauley and any Correspondents who may substitute for the Anchor.
• Work with senior staff and producers and correspondents on writing elements within pieces.
• Occasionally write brief segments -- such as our passage/obituaries.
• Exercise unbiased and sound news judgement and write in accordance to the *** News policies, editorial standards and style.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• At least four (4) years of television News writing experience
• Experience in ENPS or equivalent News computer system
• Ability to write sharp, active, and straightforward News reports, intros/tags, and teases from raw materials including: wire copy, video, reporter notes
• Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to tight deadlines and breaking news

This position involves working early mornings and/or overnight hours.

Hiring Salary Range: $48.01 - 48.01.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
