Job DescriptionRole Purpose:The Director GCFO Partnerships reports to the Senior Director, Global Partnerships, and will lead the *** U and BPO teams in the strategic and tactical planning and execution of collections and customer ser *** excellence with the goal to achieve accelerated cash flow and mitigate risk on revenue of over $10 billion a year, including Ad Sales, Universal Product and Experiences, and various trade and sundry accounts receivables.
The Director is responsible for developing strong partnerships and reporting cadence with interdependent internal stakeholders, BPO, and external customer leadership to inform, i *** uence, and support impactful change in the order-to-cash process. The Director will be the Sales Partnership "go to" person on complex or sensitive customer-specific credit and collections matters. This role will collaborate with GCFO risk and reporting leads in interpreting analytics to identify emerging economic and industry trends, customer profiles, risk, and behaviors critical to development impactful collections strategy. The Director will also participate as an advisor to new business initiatives with respect to order-to-cash practices and controls.
The Director will support the Senior Director, Global Partnerships and collaborate with the Global Process Owner in the development and execution of transformation plans to optimize *** U and BPO credit and collections talent and technical resources in efficiently and effectively achieving corporate's multi-year target operating model. This position is responsible for managing three direct reports, that is one director, two senior managers, and their teams of 4 managers, along with oversight of outsourcing collection teams in two countries.
Responsibilities:- Lead the *** U Global Customer Finance Operations' global Partnership teams for Ad Sales, Universal Products and Experiences, and other trade and sundry AR in achieving optimal accounts receivable collections performance to drive predictable, accelerated, free cash flow, mitigate risk, and provide customer ser *** excellence, both internal and external, on over $10 billion a year of sales across multiple and diverse *** Universal global platforms.
- Manage and drive performance of global credit & collections teams that include: 1 Director, 2 Senior Managers, and their respective *** U staff of 4 managers, located in New York and Los Angeles as well as of BPO, a team in two countries.
- Develop effective and efficient collections strategies by customer segmentation, business, and customer level, in collaboration with Senior Director, Director Reporting & Business Insights, and Director Risk Management, utilizing data analytics on enterprise-wide customer profiles, credit scores, historical payment behavior, macro-economics, and predictive modeling.
- Leverage centralized organizational hybrid shared services model to optimize talent, technical, and intelligent automation resources on collections (inherent high level of complexity).
- Perform complex credit and exposure analysis and critical thinking to determine credit terms that facilitate sales while mitigating risk to *** Universal. Collaborate with VP, Senior Director, and Director, Risk Management, in providing advisory guidance to senior leadership on recommended proactive credit measures, necessary to avoid bad debt, often requiring sensitivity to customer/agency relationships, country regulations economy, and sales climate.
- Collaborate with VP & Sr. Manager, Reporting and Business Insights, to improve depth of financial reporting on collections, implement meaningful KPIs, analyze big data, interpret results, trends, and variance analysis to present monthly operating performance, business insights, and action plans to senior finance leadership.
- Present collections pacing and performance and business insights to business leadership on a regular basis.
- Regularly meet with collectors and review their respective portfolio with respect to collections and AR maintenance such as cash-in-advance accounts, aged credits, and partial payments.Establish SMART goals and provide guidance as needed.
- I *** uence, recognize, and reward individual and teams' performance. Enhance collectors' reporting to identify trends to target specific, actionable, and attainable goals.
- Develop, nurture, and grow partnerships with interdependent internal leadership including Sales, Legal, Finance, and IT. Proactively inform, i *** uence, and support impactful change in alignment with their business and Controllership's strategy and goals in the order-to-cash process and ensure customer ser *** excellence. Establish interaction model and communication cadence. This position is the "go to" person for all customer-specific matters relating to customer credit and collection matters.
- Develop, nurture, and grow lasting GCFO relationships with external global customers, their leadership, industry organizations, and system providers to drive cash flow, i *** uence change and keep abreast of new and immerging technologies.
- Lead brainstorming sessions with teams and empower them to take ownership of their respective projects to drive change.
- Provide talent and career development, succession planning, as well as ensuring an inclusive and cohesive culture that represents the values of *** U and Global Controllership.
- Pre-and post-bankruptcy planning and reporting, preference claim defense, and support to Director, Risk Management and Legal.
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting; audit support; business continuity planning.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
QualificationsBasic Requirements:- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in order-to-cash management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven customer-centric strategic approach in collections, both internal and external
- Demonstrated track record of driving successful reduction of days sales outstanding and reduction of bad debt
- Extensive experience in cash forecasting, analysis, and reporting
- Advanced expertise in credit risk analysis and establishment of credit policy and terms
- Demonstrated ability to make sound credit decisions and terms that mitigate risk while facilitating sales
- Thorough understanding of accounting and related controls in Order-to-Cash, including SOX, (Master data, Credit, Billing, Revenue Recognition, Bad Debt, Collections, Cash Application, etc.)
- Extensive leadership experience of large geographically disbursed team in a shared-services model
- Proven experience building relationships and cohesiveness among inter-dependent teams
- Experienced in designing O2C processes, controls, and system specifications
- Knowledge of AML/KYC compliance and due diligence
- Advanced knowledge triggers of imminent insolvency, bankruptcy law, and defenses of preference claims
