Job Summary:

Since the resort is open seven days a week, candidates must be available days, evenings and weekends.

The starting rate for this position is $17.85 per hour.

Responsibilities:

It goes without saying that job duties will include operating a computer (hotel check-in system), handling cash, and light cleaning, but one of the most important parts of the job is offering the " *** difference." Our Cast Members are fully trained to provide information about all aspects of the resort to ensure that our guests have the absolute best vacation experience possible. It takes a special kind of person to do this well, so a friendly demeanor, positive attitude and the sincere desire to be helpful is a key part of the job.

Basic Qualifications:

Here is what you will need to be successful in the job:

• You must be at least 18 years old
• Prolonged standing for up to three hours at a time and some heavy lifting may be required
• This is a part-time position that requires you to be fully available a minimum of three days per week, including one weekend day. You will also be required to be fully available on national/state holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

It would be helpful if you also had:

• Ability to speak a language other than English
• Previous cashier experience
• Previous retail or related sales industry experience

As a part-time Recreation Lifeguard at *** 's Hilton Head Island Resort, you are the person our guests turn to when they want to try water sports, have a campfire, do arts and crafts, create a "memory" pillow, play rainy-day games or just chill by the pool with a cool drink in hand. Of course, safety, lifesaving and first-responder duties are *** , but you will also read stories to little ones, get refreshments for the big ones, help with towel and equipment rentals, and so much more. The key to success in this job is having an authentically friendly demeanor, an unshakably positive attitude and the sincere desire to help and protect others.

• Ensure the well-being and safety of our guests
• Keep pool areas clean
• Answer guest questions
• Provide information and assist in recreation equipment/towel rentals
• Host supervised children's activities
• Read stories and provide refreshments

Basic Qualifications:

Here are the basic things you will need to be successful in this job:

• You must be at least 18 years of age
• Hold a valid US driver's license
• Have (or be willing to obtain) US Lifeguard and First Responder certifications
• Pass a vision screening (corrected or uncorrected) with at least 20/25 vision
• Ability to observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility
• Pass a swim test: swim 200 yards without resting, tread water without using your hands for two minutes, and retrieve a 10-pound brick from a depth of 8 feet.
• Heavy lifting and working with chemicals
• Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
• This role is full-time and requires full availability for any shift, including nights, any day of the week. Must be fully available for any shift on state/national holidays.

Imagine a place that sells everything from milk to Minnie Mouse ears, from sandwiches to sunscreen, from jelly beans to jewelry: Our Broad Creek Mercantile Shop is like an old-fashioned general store, with a wide assortment of things guests need combined with the *** and Hilton Head-themed items guests want. You would be part of a team that does it all, from operating the cash register to stocking shelves, to light cleaning and most important, to interacting with our guests. Since the store is open seven days a week, candidates must be available days, evenings and weekends, and must be comfortable selling alcoholic beverages.

Responsibilities:

Menus at the resort's two quick ser *** locations, Palmetto Dunes and Tide Me Over, constantly evolve to meet guest's wishes; you would be part of that process by communicating guest comments to your leaders. The environment is friendly but fast-paced. On any given day you might take guest orders, operate the point-of-sale system (cash register), handle cash, fulfill orders, prep food, stock items, keep inventory, and of course, keep the front and back of the house up to *** 's famous cleanliness standards. On top of that, you would be fully trained on knowledge of the resort so you can answer guests' questions, share information and provide the " *** difference" that brings people to the Hilton Head Island Resort. In this job, blending professionalism with enthusiasm is the key to success.
