- Are you looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to work closely with talented people and further develop essential career skills?
Seeking a PRODUCER to join our nimble, content studio.
Only apply for this position if you are passionate about front row seats to help run & grow a small production company.
We are a Director/DP duo who act as executive producers on all of our work, with a hands on approach to collaborating with our clients & crew.
Our company has been successful for 10 years, graduating from a small studio in Brooklyn, to a larger one in midtown Manhattan, to our now largest space in Irvington, NY (a convenient & beautiful train ride out of Grand Central—most ideal for candidates who live in Manhattan, Queens or Westchester, NY or northern NJ).
We create digital content for globally recognized brands, including a majority of in studio (tabletop) work & a variety of commercial work out on location.
Our most prized company values are maintaining a positive attitude & creative resourcefulness. Good energy & a positive environment are crucial to the experience we need to create for our clients & all collaborators.
Life is short (including a lot of working days!) & we are seeking only candidates who would be as enthusiastic as we are about our potential to make great work & support each other in our careers.
DURATION: 3 month trial, potential for 12-month contract & further employment beyond
LOCATION: we need someone who is happy/willing to be in studio at least 2-3 days a week. When production is happening it would be more days in studio. Busy stretches certainly allow for greater remote breaks, if desired.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
Exceptional communication: over email/in writing, internally, in all client-facing interactions as you would be a client lead on many projects
Capable in all phases of production: From scheduling, planning, hiring, briefing, budgeting (etc.) in Pre-Pro, to helping out on set as an AD & point person, to Post supervision & workflow management.
Resourcefulness & problem solving: every project will have new challenges; being capable of facing them confidently & smartly
Experience working directly with brands/agencies on content creation: we make beautiful, clever, fun content for brands, but we are ultimately helping our clients with marketing and this requires an appreciation + working knowledge in content marketing (not just film, TV, docs, etc.)
Proactive & hardworking: since we are a small team, we cannot spoon-feed instructions for project work & need real ownership & vision for how to complete tasks
Above-and-beyond mentality: our work & our days are only as good as the effort we put in; we need a high achiever who feels purpose in doing what it takes to wow/impress us and our clients
Staff & studio management: including crew & outside vendors, a small intern team that you build, future hires, and the internal workflow that includes company owners and client. Being present in our studio, enhancing it & facilitating both our own productions and external rentals of the space.
Flexibility & humility: the role involves wearing multiple hats, including (but not limited to) project management, client/account lead, logistics whiz, creative partner & truly humble team member willing to tackle any task no matter how small or untraditional.
CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE
While we don’t expect you will possess all of these skills/passions, we are seeking someone who would excel in at least one of them.
Internal social/marketing: helping us maintain a ‘pulse’ and visibility to our network and clients via familiar platforms or methods (Insta, FB, LinkedIn, Mail Chimp, TikTok, etc.). Creating and distributing content.
Business development: leveraging your own (word of mouth) network and actioning on smart ways to attract new clients or expand existing relationships
Streamlining creative operations: improving our overall collaboration internally and with clients. Finding new efficiencies and ways to increase productivity and the value we get out of our project work.
