The Intern, Sustainable Materials and Packaging Sourcing will assist the Team with various projects and tasks related to sourcing sustainable materials to achieve *** (TWDC) 2030 Sustainability Goals. Key objectives will include assisting with the physical and digital libraries of materials, creating sustainability resources for the organization, and supporting Sourcing strategies to achieve more sustainable products and enhanced traceability.
A day in the life...
- Textile and Packaging Materials and Supplier Management:
- Facilitate collaborative material reviews and approvals with cross-functional stakeholders
- Create and organize library entries for sustainable materials, packaging, and labels
- Own a project to support sustainable material and packaging vendor expansion and capabilities matrix. Present project to Senior Leadership
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System and Processes:
- Create, track, and communicate requests in product lifecycle management system to Suppliers
- Build and maintain reports and presentations on sustainable material and packaging consumption, development reporting, and progress towards sustainability goals
- Improve data integrity through review of sustainable materials and packaging PLM inputs
- General:
- Learn the role of Sustainable Materials and Packaging and how it relates to *** Global Merchandise & Sourcing Development
- Gain knowledge of the garment, sample, and fabric development process and the environmental impacts of paper, wood and plastic in packaging
- Learn the core packaging and printing process to support *** Sustainability Goals
- Other duties may be assigned.
What we are looking for...
- Passion for sustainability
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Product Lifecycle Management software system is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliverables simultaneously; works well under tight deadlines
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate global time zones
Required Education:
- Currently a Junior, Senior or recent graduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., materials science, sustainability) OR have graduated within 6 months.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a *** College Program or *** Professional Internship
Additional Details:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a *** internship or program.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
- Must be compliant with The *** Look appearance guidelines.
- Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
- Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 through June 2024 .
