Responsibilities:
- Supports all engineering aspects of the Bally Sports Arizona technical facility including Studio, Editing systems, Cloud Control Room and transmission of live/taped programs and events.
- Serves as EIC for Cloud Control productions.
- Supports all live and taped studio productions.
- Troubleshoots broadcast equipment and provides repair, maintenance, and documentation.
- Provides IT support and works with corporate IT department to resolve network and staff computer issues.
- Interacts daily, communicates effectively, and provides technical support to Production & Operations departments.
- Ensures all transmission equipment is calibrated and operating correctly before and during live event telecasts; conducts quality control of all incoming and outgoing PLN feeds and corrects and documents technical problems.
- Consults with Bally Sports Engineering and/or Sinclair Engineering staff regarding corrective actions if unable to resolve alone.
- Works with Operations department to coordinate and maintain all BSAZ equipment that is used on-site for game broadcasts.
- Follows all Bally Sports and FCC standards and guidelines.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
- This position will report to the Chief Engineer and the Executive Producer
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in broadcast engineering and studio operations environment.
- Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and familiar with all studio production equipment.
- Strong knowledge of technical setup in file base editing systems including networking and storage solutions.
- Knowledgeable maintaining Avid ISIS/ Interplay editing and archiving LTO systems.
- Must be able to troubleshoot computer-based broadcast equipment and possess basic IT skills.
- Computer operating systems knowledge is a must, networking skills a plus.
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills are essential as well as technical troubleshooting skills.
- Must have strong communication skills, team player and a "can do" attitude.
- Occasionally required to bend and lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
- Occasionally required to perform duties outside of office at remote event.
- Second shift hours/schedule and weekend and holiday shifts will be required.
