Job Responsibilities:

• Work with producer, desk, meteorologist, management and production team to deliver a fast paced, informative and consistent newscast Saturdays and Sundays.
• Work as a general assignment reporter three days during the week.
• Lead effort to contribute to various station branded digital platforms on weekends. Post frequently on station-issued social *** accounts throughout the week.
• Put stories together for weekend evening shows as needed.
• Coordinate with news managers to develop stories that go beyond surface details, that accentuate unique enterprise angles, and have exclusive content.
• Develop a network of sources who provide tips and allow the reporter to break stories of significance.
• Can juggle multiple stories and projects simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional time-management skills by meeting all deadlines under extraordinary pressure.

The ideal candidate loves visual storytelling, thinks outside the box, embodies creativity and can execute their ideas efficiently. They need to excel in video editing first and writing/editing second.

The senior content producer will be responsible for researching, pitching, writing and editing 5- to 10-minute scripts and videos on a variety of subjects, from true crime to heartwarming stories. The ideal candidate has a passion for video storytelling and making local news content accessible and interesting to a wide national audience.

• Research, pitch, write and edit scripts for digital and television
