Rochester, NY's legacy station, *** affiliate ****-TV / RochesterFirst.com is seeking an enterprising marketing pioneer to join our transformational team as a Creative Services Director. The Creative Services Director leads our creative design services team to create cutting-edge digital, video, print, and live event promotions for ****-TV, RochesterFirst.com and their growing client roster. The ideal candidate is an innovator who will develop and lead our overall TV/digital marketing strategy, and who will spearhead groundbreaking promotions that achieve our strategic objectives. The Director of Creative Services drives the station's strategic creative direction and innovative to effectively differentiate Nexstar in the marketplace and grow revenue.
The Creative Ser *** Director reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates with all departments to execute successful on-air, online, and live event (Lilac Festival, Bills Training Camp, contests) marketing promotions. The successful candidate will build and capitalize on strategic relationships, both internally and throughout the Greater Rochester community, to optimize the station's community presence and audience across all screens.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop, manage, and execute im *** te, short, and long-term promotion plan and vision for the station.
• Manage and nurture the Creative Services Team to successfully achieve our strategic goals by providing clear direction and prioritizing their ongoing growth and development.
• Leads and manages all station marketing and promotional activities in pursuit of optimizing audience growth and community outreach.
• Strategically promotes the brands of ****-TV, RochesterFirst.com, and our presence in the community.
• Manages the creative direction of all on-air, online, and off-air branded promotion for the station and website.
• Translates strategic direction into creative solutions while upholding creative, ethical, and legal standards in accordance with Nexstar and client interpretations.
• Plan and execute all station and/or community events (Lilac Festival, Backyard BBQ, Food for Families, etc.).
• Ensures station promotion aligns with our overall branding in the pursuit of audience growth achievement.
• Demonstrates a strategic and thoughtful approach while prioritizing station and client interests and maintaining creative standards of excellence.
• Writes and produces compelling advertising for station programs that maintains and incites viewer acquisition.
• Coordinates with News to gather promotional information, plan community appearances, and shoots.
• Thinks big picture on a range of responsibilities from strategic approaches to campaign ideas to tactics, while guiding and elevating the work of the creative team.
• Collaborates with the Sales Department, to write, shoot, and edit effective creative marketing campaigns and sales-driven promotion materials.
• Collaborates with direct reports, Sales, and News departments to plan and execute new and existing station projects (i.e.: Golden Apple, Remarkable Women).
• Actively participates and interacts in station Department Head and Steering Committee meetings.
• Ensures station compliance with rules and regulations applicable to FCC, local, state, and federal laws.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience guiding, directing, coaching, developing, and motivating employees, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
• Writing, shooting, and editing commercials - Adobe Premiere Creative Suite, After Effects and PhotoShop
• Proficient in Nielsen, ComScore audience measurement and Google Analytics as resources that drive our strategic planning and execution.
• Experience with Wide Orbit and iNews, a plus.
• Excellent news judgment with expansive knowledge of local/national current events, history, newsmakers, and issues.
• Must meet tight deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining attention to details.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in *** promotions
• Must be a team player, demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and possess social perceptiveness.
• Fluency in English; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work different hours and shifts.
Salary range- 65K-75K
