DUTIES: *** Business Publishing, Inc. seeks Senior Database Architect in Troy, MI to research, architect, and develop innovative multi-tiered solutions using modern tools and methodologies. Work closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders to provide project estimates based on customer experience, features, and envisioned solutions. Ensure architecture and design of the solution is in alignment with overall enterprise architecture. Solve problems and proactively look for ways to improve our products and platforms. Modernize the existing database infrastructure. Perform data migration, data warehousing and create reports. Automate and optimize current solutions. Perform production support and do critical bug and issue fixes. Communicate effectively and fluently while working in close coordination with the team. Train, guide, and mentor others by reviewing team code and offering suggestions and improvements for others to follow, while maintaining and elevating organizational standards and best practices. Determine best paths and strategies for migrating to and adapting new technologies while minimizing the costs and risks to the organization. Architect efficient new database structures, optimize and maintain existing structures, and automate jobs and processes that do not require human interaction. Serve as cloud architect and migrate servers and data across platforms - both on-premises and in the cloud, designing and architecting solutions that would resolve current and future data-related issues, and envisioning data solutions that would help the organization perform its business at optimum levels while being duly prepared for future challenges.
REQUIREMENTS : Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and nine (9) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: designing and developing SQL database; planning, designing, executing legacy SQL server upgrades; creating SSIS packages and SQL solution for data migration; designing and developing data warehouse solution using SSAS; creating SSRS reports of the data available in warehouse and SQL databases; designing and creating SQL based test solutions for data reconciliation and compatibility; performing database related bug fixing and debugging; performing SQL based feature enhancement and performance optimization; implementing SQL best practices; managing and implementing SQL server security and data audits; and automating of SQL database deliveries and recurring processes.
