Your New Role

As an Associate UX/UI Designer at WB Games NY, you will be helping us to design the future of how our consumers interface with our products and services. You will work closely with our engineering and operations teams to understand, and illustrate, the web interfaces to our systems. This position will require research, creativity, technical understanding, and an acute ability to put yourself in the shoes of our end users.

Your Role Accountabilities

• We want you to have a deep understanding of the tools and services that are offered through WB Games New York. While we don't expect you to write code, we are looking for a level of curiosity from a technical standpoint. We want you to explore and ask plenty of questions.
  
• You will work directly with our engineers to design user interfaces and das *** ards around the complex services that they are delivering.
  
• We are expecting you to create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and documentation of the frontends that you will be designing.
  
• From time-to-time, you will work directly with our game teams to help them design custom interfaces around their implementation of our online services.
  
• You are going to want to be comfortable pitching and presenting new ideas to stakeholders.
  
• We will be leaning on you to research and understanding the current state of UX/UI design.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience designing complex user interfaces
  
• Excellent verbal and communication skills are a must. You will spend a good amount of your time understanding and gathering requirements from many teams across all of WB Games.
  
• A portfolio of your successes in UI/UX
  
• Since you are the source of many requirements, not all tasks given to you will have a clearly mapped strategy. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an environment like this, who would be eager to help tease and define some of these requirements.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of *** Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $48,994.00 - $90,990.00 salary per year. *** Live Entertainment Costuming is seeking candidates for an Associate Costume Designer role. This role creates costume designs based on creative provided by Art and Show Directors for entertainment offerings and operational locations. We pay close attention to diverse points of view as well as understanding the functional aspects of the end-user of the product. The team crafts costume designs for theme parks, resorts & *** Cruise Line. Design skills to include full color renderings and costume research in any *** that will enhance the projects.

This role will report to the Manager of Costume Design & Implementation.

The role is temporary with no guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do

• Accountable for fabric and trim selections for all garments and have the capacity to on advise custom crafted textiles.
• Provide pattern instruction thru the completion of a project with pattern change and costume prototype oversight, including supervision of costume fittings.
• Attend assigned entertainment rehearsals and operational design implementations.
• Work with *** Imagineering and *** Live Entertainment on costume design and development.
• Provide and maintain effective communication with internal and all artistic production and operating partners.
• Stay current with *** brand entertainment offerings world-wide.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 1+ years sketch artist experience in live show production, Theatre, Film or Fashion Design
• Experience prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with textile development
• Experience in costume construction

What You Will Do

• Lead project planning including scope, creative content, project timeline, and financials
• Participate in creative development work sessions to facilitate scope definition and initial R.O.M. financial estimate
• Lead and coordinate project execution including project buyer oversight, issuance of work authorizations, task prioritization, coordination of functionality, and design reviews
• Maintain the balance *** ween cost, quality, and timeliness, to ensure the successful completion of each project on target, on time, and on budget

• Assure adequate documentation of photo, garment, and design illustrations are prepared for YuniquePLM, GUS (Garment Utilization System), and all our costume collateral or promotional materials
• Facilitate resolution of quality and functionality issues that result from the initial release and usage of costume components
• Present designs/projects to various levels of partners

• 1+ years in product development focusing on the garment industry and facilitating project teams

*** Entertainment & *** 's Product Design team is seeking a Lead Product Designer who will be an exceptional role model to our growing team. You'll guide and mentor a hardworking design team, focused on crafting intuitive and elegant human-centric experiences for the Growth and Commerce user journeys within our product portfolio, notably *** Flagship.The right person for this role must have experience in developing both comprehensive and future-forward experiences and a proven ability to inspire and mentor designers to push the boundaries, as well as keeping focus on optimizing the details of current experiences.

What you'll do

• Lead product design for the Growth and Commerce team, supervising the work of at least 1-2 other designers
• Partner with product and engineering to identify requirements, use cases, and user journeys
• Illustrate and communicate complex design solutions across uses cases by creating process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high fidelity mock-ups
• Use data collected from research, user testing, and market analysis to create truly user-centered designs
• Collaborate with a design manager, product manager, and cross-team peers throughout the product development life-cycle to iterate on and deliver a user experience that meets the highest quality bar
• Act as a quality control on the team and make sure documentations are in top shape before delivering to engineers and QAs
• Use a variety of metrics to analyze and continuously improve the user experience
• Mentor and provide design directions for senior, mid-level designers and associate designers
• Exercise ethical decision-making and do what's best for our viewers
• Be the voice in the room that always puts the user first

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree required, MBA or technical degree preferred
• Minimum 7 years in Product Design at a technology company
• Minimum 1 year(s) of experience leading other designers either as a project lead or people manager
• Passion for evolving the design practice; it's people, processes and tools
• Consulting skills to help stakeholders & partners uncover project goals, constraints & dependencies; and then guide them to optimal solutions
• Experience designing across multiple Living Room devices (Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Fire TV etc.)
• A strong portfolio demonstrating both personal and team-based work
• A deep arsenal of design tools (Figma, Sketch, InVision, Framer, Mural, Keynote)
• Proficiency in user-centered design thinking methodologies
• Outstanding visual design aesthetics combined usable experiences that address problems
• A strong drive in overcoming obstacles to make a product successful
• An understanding of acquisition & conversion, data-informed design
• Experience with experimentation design (A/B, MVT, Usability, etc.)
• Be able to communicate directly with Product Managers, Stakeholders, and Developers to translate their visions and constraints, into beautiful, functional products that will delight our users
• Excellent prioritization and documentation skills

The hiring range for this position in New York is $142,600.00 to $191,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
