Job Summary: The Entertainment Technical Services Team is a valued and critical contributor to the success of the *** land Resort's Entertainment division. They install, operate, and strike many shows, Spectaculars, projects, and special events in *** California Adventure Park and *** land Park. They are also responsible for the maintenance, support, and operation of all Entertainment show equipment and systems that are used to bring all these industry-leading Entertainment offerings to life.
The starting Pay Rate for Entertainment Stage Technician is $30.75/hour.Responsibilities: - Operate and maintain:
- Lighting fixtures and lighting control systems
- *** servers, projectors, LED displays, and other video equipment
- Audio equipment, digital consoles, and processers
- Interact with networked audio systems
- Performer flight and show action systems
- Special effects equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment and/or system faults
- Install, remove, and maintain equipment
- Conduct operational and functional checks of show systems and equipment
- Read blueprints, drawings, schematics, diagrams, checklists, etc.
- Load in, operate, and strike equipment for projects and special events
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other vehicles when needed
- Adhere to proper safety guidelines at all times
- Open, track, and resolve work tickets on *** 's custom work order system
Basic Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent certificate
- 2+ years of experience in live entertainment or production with proven ability utilizing and/or setting up:
- Current Audio, Video, Lighting, and/or Networking systems, equipment, and/or consoles
- Rigging and/or Rope access/Industrial climbing
- Basic understanding of electrical circuitry and power distribution
- Basic understanding of computers, computer systems, and equipment
- Working knowledge of theatrical terminology and documentation
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing needs, requirements, and challenges
- Strong creative and innovative problem-solving skills
- Self-directed and able to collaborate on a team
- Able to lead with a positive attitude and approach challenges head-on
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Able to use independent judgment to make decisions as well as organize and prioritize work
- Must be available to work nights, 3rd Shift (shifts starting at 10 p.m.), weekends, holidays, and Peak Season (September - early February)
- Must be fully available for two weeks of training
- Valid CA driver's license
- Comfortable lifting heavy objects (this position requires lifting up to 100 lbs. unassisted)
- Able to work at elevated heights
- Able to work in a wide range of outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain, etc.
- Able to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility required
- Ability to work in a continuously standing position for two or more hours
- Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects
Preferred Qualifications: - Proven experience programming Lighting, Video, Audio, or Automation systems and equipment
- Advanced networking and computer skills and experience
- Extensive Show Control/Automation operator experience
- Proven Leadership Experience with an emphasis on service
- Industry Certifications or training: SPRAT, ETC, QSC, CTS, Dante, ETCP Arena/Theatrical Rigging or Electrical
Additional Information: SCHEDULE AVAILABILTYOur Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; Shifts may start and end any time over a 24 hour day. Casual Regular Cast Members must be available to work to work all holidays and all peak seasons
