ABOUT YOU:

The President & General Manager of Miami, FL will have a clear vision for the future of our local business with the capability of communicating and executing that vision via hands-on leadership, optimism, strategic risk-taking and focused metrics of success. He/she will be a creative thinker who generates new ideas, understands our diversity and maximizes our brands and resources to achieve market leadership. He/she should cultivate key client relationships and set the example as the Chief Revenue Officer for the stations.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

Responsible for the overall vision, direction, coordination and profitability of *** Television and *** Radio in Miami, FL
Leads Department Heads in News, Sales, Public Affairs, Community/Public Affairs, Operations, Creative Services, Marketing and Production Departments, in accordance with Company policies, procedures and applicable laws
Direct Station activities to ensure compliance with government regulations and ensures protection of FCC Licenses
Directs plans with marketing personnel to have audience growth strategies and community outreach for all business units
Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals, and identifies external threats and opportunities by analyzing market and competition
Supervises and counsels Sales Department management and staff to ensure objectives are met, and maximum sales productivity
Responsible for developing annual business plan and working within approved budget
Develops and implements cost saving measures when needed, to achieve EBITDA goals
Conducts and maintains relationships with key clients locally & nationally, agencies and organizations to promote station services in the Miami, FL market and nationally
Represent stations in the community among elected officials, business leaders and charitable groups to reflect favorably on corporate enterprise
Directs annual budget process
Develop and execute a local event strategy
Drive Digital Strategy
Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy

YOU HAVE:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Bilingual (English/Spanish) spoken and written
A minimum of 10 years of broadcast/ *** experience
A minimum of 5 years of successfully television and/or radio Management experience
Must have excellent organizational, leadership, and analytical skills
Valid driver's license with good driving record required
Prior experience in Spanish language broadcasting is preferred
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook

Must be willing to work from office in Miami, FL

Interact With Robotics & Audio Controls during Productions.
Coding of shows using Ross Overdrive and Dalet newsroom systems

Job Description

The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Show Director in all aspects of production, coordinating all production activities, and maintaining the split-second timing for various fast-paced live, pre-recorded & APC productions.

Job Duties

Assists the Show Director with show traffic, pre, and post-production
Maintains constant communication with Master Control, Show Director, Stage Manager as well as the entire production crew pertaining to show flow, all timing, and countdown aspects of the show
Responsible for obtaining all information related to show timing from Producers, Traffic, and Master Control
Responsible for physically timing various video file clips and other show elements as needed
Oversees playback of *** through multiple controllers (i.e. EVS IP Director, MPlay / BEPlay, and Avid Command) for the assigned show(s)
Responsible for the insertion and removal of branding graphics, digital, and breakaway cover slates during show segments and commercial breaks
Directs show segments, briefs, and other elements in the absence of a Show Director
Assists Show Directors with the APC workflow that includes coding assigned shows and double-checking codes during breaking news/emergency scenarios
Works under the direct supervision of the Director, Control Room Operations, and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by the manager as needed

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, TV Production, or related field OR equivalent work experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a production, postproduction, broadcast, or communications environment
Exhibits strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology
Proficient in Avid iNEWS or other NRCS (Dalet, ENPS, Inception, etc.)
Fluency in Spanish & English (both written & verbal)

Desired Characteristics:

Fluency in English & Spanish is preferred
Familiarity with control room automation systems including Sony ELC, Ross Video OverDrive, and Grass Valley Ignite.
Prior Studio or Remote/Field experience
Exceptional time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
Self-starter who exhibits ownership of assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve im *** te problems while building toward long-term goals
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dead-line-driven environment
Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
Demonstrates strong attention to detail
Ability to build rapport with clients and manage expectations
Ability to effectively be flexible in approach, and respond well to pressure
