Your New Role
*** Entertainment seeks a Manager of Labor Relations for Television Labor Relations. Handles television plans compliance audits and grievances, processes various claims and grievances with respect to payment of wages made under the collective bargaining agreement, maintains and develops department information sharing and data retention systems, union reports compliance obligations and claims, and supports Labor Relations in industry-wide negotiations as needed.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Independently oversee **** union compliance and trust fund/plan audits, performing the following functions:
- Serve as primary **** liaison for all television audits. Oversee and handle audits from demand through processing and final settlement.
- Research, analyze, and autonomously negotiate settlement of audits, including providing any necessary arbitration support.
- Assess when to advise internal and external business partners on guild and union compliance requirements, including the accuracy of various contribution reports, for payment obligations pursuant to the respective industry collective bargaining agreements.
- Selectively consult and coordinate with **** Production stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Legal Production, Casting), payroll companies, law and audit firms, unions, trust and pension and health plans, and WB Labor Relations executives as part of audit due diligence.
- Determine when to request waivers from the above-the-line and below-the-line guilds and unions when necessary.
- Maintain records of all current and historic audits.
- Primary creator, developer and administrator of Labor Relations project management and enterprise technology systems:
- Primary **** Labor Relations records keeper.
- Independently create, develop and administerexisting and new workflows utilizing existing software tools (e.g., Sharepoint, Teams, Monday.com, eCounsel).
- Interview, collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders at all levels within **** and Labor Relations to design and develop data sharing and data retention solutions to maximize productive recordkeeping and accurate information sharing and union contract compliance.
- Oversee workflow functions Manager has delegated to Labor Relations administrative staff.
- Serve as Labor Relations point with *** IT.
- Independently provide guidance, support, and training (including onboarding assistance) to WB Labor relations staff on utilization of workflow systems.
- Union reports compliance and issue resolution:
- Primary **** Labor Relations union reports compliance stakeholder.
- Autonomously monitor union reporting and compliance obligations for each production, including data collection and reporting (e.g., DGA deal memos, Pilot Director deals, Weekly Work Lists, Series Lead-Ins, First-Time Directors, Producer- Directors, First AD's in Foreign Locations, designation of points within production zones, etc.)
- Separately determine when to consult and train production staff and **** stakeholders to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and the avoidance of discrepancies to avoid claims and costs.
- Provide general notices to productions and **** stakeholders (e.g., voting notices and collective bargaining agreement updates and notices from the AMPTP).
- Handle payment-related claims and grievances made by various unions and guilds under their respective collective bargaining agreements:
- Autonomously research, analyze, and negotiate settlement of claims, including providing any necessary arbitration support. Issue spot complex topics requiring guidance of labor counsel and settlement authority from production labor executive or head of **** Labor Relations.
- Consult and coordinate with **** Production stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Legal Production, Casting, Business Affairs), payroll companies, unions, and WB Labor Relations executives.
- Gather data and compile statistics:
- Assist executives in response to union and AMPTP Information Requests.
- Research and analyze data for union and government claims, arbitration proceedings, and negotiations.
- Support union negotiations by compiling and arranging statistics from within **** departments.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years' experience working at a studio, entertainment guild, law firm, or production company. Production experience and Union and Guild Plan/Trust Fund audits and data management experience preferred.
- BA/BS degree
- Research skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (including Excel, Sharepoint, and Teams) required.
- Knowledge of contracts, complaint process, and audits.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with people on all levels.
- Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions.
- Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work effectively.
- Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
- Must be a team player and good team communicator.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work with challenging personalities.

The Legal Bits...In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skillset, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of *** Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $71,235.00 - $132,294.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, *** Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
