Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

Interns in this small department are afforded hands-on television production and post-production experience. Responsibilities include: Assisting producers with planning, guest booking and pre-production. Assisting crew members on set. Editing segments for various platforms. Assisting with music cue sheets, talent and location releases and closed captioning. Engaging and assisting with all social *** platforms.
*** U Local Audience Development Intern
The Audience Development Intern will work closely with a team of Audience Managers and Editors to ensure content reaches wide audiences and retains our most loyal users.The team is looking for a team-player and a self-starter who is interested in understanding how content travels across the web, and what role that plays in the *** business. Fluency in Spanish and interest in Sports is a plus. You must be a clear communicator with an understanding of newsgathering, fact-checking, and appropriately attributing quotes. An aptitude for data and analytics is a plus.
HQ - *** U Local Marketing
The *** U Local HQ Marketing team specializes in various areas including Brand Management, Streaming Platforms, *** , Regional Sports Networks' Marketing and Creative Services, Graphic Design, and Syndication. The *** U Local marketing intern will have the opportunity to engage in diverse projects involving *** and *** marketers from local stations and streaming channels across the country.
QualificationsBasic Requirements:- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025).December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
Desired Characteristics:- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- A background in any of the following areas: Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Production, English, Digital *** , Marketing.
- Strong interest in the *** industry.
- Commitment to building an inclusive work environment.
- Ability to multitask and highly organized.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Previous internship experience within a corporate setting.
- Social *** Platforms.
- Final Cut Pro.
- Adobe Creative Cloud.
- AP Style writing.

The hourly rate for student interns is $17.00.
INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTENDING U.S. UNIVERSITIES:To participate in *** Universal's 2024-2025 Academic Year internship program, you must confirm at the time of interview that you will be able to provide US work authorization documentation for the entire duration of the internship. Since the *** U Academic Year Internship Program spans the traditional "Fall" and "Spring" semesters, you should talk to the DSO at your school's International Students Services Office about your need to apply for CPT work authorization twice to ensure you are authorized to work both semesters and throughout the entirety of the program.
Please also note that future visa sponsorship at *** Universal is rarely available for post-grad employment opportunities.
