Job DescriptionReporting to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), the Manager of Fire Life Safety plays a critical role in the safety and success of Production and Business Operations at *** Universal. Responsible for the programs at both our NY and NJ facilities which encompass approximately 2.5M square feet, this position will be responsible for all aspects of Fire Life Safety including training, policies, compliance and maintaining relationships with State and Local agencies. The position will interact with all business units and require strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Oversee the Fire Warden program including the updating and maintenance of participants, communications, and training of new Fire Warden Team members.
- Conduct annual Fire Warden training as well as Page and Audience Coordinator training.
- Coordinate AED/CPR training.
- Manage the fire extinguisher & AED inspection program, including asset management and monthly reporting.
- Manage Fire Alarm inspections for NJ and NYC facilities.
- Compile the monthly ambulance response report for 30 Rock.
- Coordinate approvals & inspections of Special Effects activities as required by Productions.
- Maintain the Studio Fire Alarm Shunt system and conduct training as required.
- Support design and construction projects to ensure *** U fire life safety standards are maintained.
- Review contractor proposals, SOWs, and invoices related to FLS work.
- Coordinate required smoke shutdowns and fire alarm point disarming with landlord and 3rd party vendors. Review contractor workflow submittals and daily work order reports, and update communication board to ensure visibility by the Facilities team and clients.
- Attend daily Facilities workflow call and advise to safety requirements as needed.
- Maintain and inspect the Shunt/Smoke shutdown SOP including the review of placard identification.
- Provide emergency responses onsite as required.
- Lead emergency *** U alert calls related to fire alarm conditions and participate in other related alert calls.
- Coordinate and conduct fire drills as required by local and state agencies.
- Maintain and foster the relationship *** ween the Landlord FSD/CB/FLS staff and *** U related staff, including collaboration and partnering on projects and initiatives.
- Manage the fireguard program as it relates to providing coverage to FLS system impaired spaces.
- Serve as the primary contact with the FDNY.
- Prepare incident and After-Action reports as required.
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings and provide FLS guidance for the Dry Creek, CO facility.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5-years of experience in FLS related field.
- Experienced with interpreting and implementing local NYC Fire Code rules and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent ability to manage time and multiple projects effectively.
Additional Requirements:Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an *** Universal-designated worksite. Additionally, production at *** Universal takes place around the clock, 7 days a week. This position will be required to be available after hours and weekends as necessary.

Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000
