Job Summary: *** Live Entertainment is seeking candidates for a seasonal Costume Designer. This role will design and create exclusive costume designs for *** World, *** Vacation Club *** Cruise Line, which includes theme parks, resorts, and entertainment venues.
You will report to the Manager, Costume Design & Implementation.
This role is seasonal with no guarantee of regular hours.
Responsibilities- Possess design skills to include full-color digital renderings and costume research that will improve Entertainment & Operational design projects
- Supervise fabrics and trims selections for all garments and have the capacity to create custom-designed textiles
- Provide feedback on pattern development to the completion of a project with pattern change and costume prototype oversight
- Conceptualize and design performance solutions for theatrical presentations
- Facilitate design presentations to key partners
- Attend all rehearsals and development sessions that support design decision making
- Partner with clients & associated *** to counterbalance costume functionality and design
- Work with *** Imagineering (WDI) and *** Entertainment on costume design and development
- Assist in maintaining Park and Resort wide costume design integrity and quality
- Provide and maintain effective communication with internal and all artistic production and operating partners
- Stay current with *** brand entertainment offerings worldwide
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years' design experience in live show production, Theatre, Film, or Fashion Design
- 3+ years' experience in large-scale production
- Experience working with digital portfolios of completed illustrations and realized design work
- Experience with digital drawing skills and attention to detail
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on Photoshop and Illustrator
- In-depth experience with textiles
- Experience designing costumes that work well on the human anatomy
- Experience presenting blue sky concepts of aesthetics and design
- Experience in collaborating, prioritizing multiple projects, and time management
- Experience gaining consensus from various levels of collaborators up to and including Executives
- Experience handling confidential information
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
- Valid Passport
- Portfolio required
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in pattern and garment construction
- Experience and knowledge of fashion history, current fashion trends, and developments
- Understanding of new & evolving fabric technologies
- Ability to provide direction to technical design and documentation teams & partners
- Experience in Theme Park or related industry
Required Education- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Costume Design, or related study
Preferred Education- Master's Degree in Fashion or Costume Design, or related study
