Job Summary:

The Costumer role takes a costume from page to stage for the *** Cruise Line. This role is responsible for researching and facilitating the manufacturing of new and replacement Entertainment costumes while collaborating with some of the industry's top talent. The Costumer must have the ability to relay direction and concepts to various levels of cast members while ensuring our costumes meet the design aesthetic and the functional requirements. This position will require both domestic and international travel.

This is a seasonal position with no guarantee of regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to ensure costume quality and design are consistently maintained
• Produce estimates, lead timelines & budgets
• Work with the Designer to identify fabrics, trims, and all garment accessories factoring in climate, safety, and functionality
• Ensure that our costumes meet the rigorous needs of a day-to-day operation while being highly functional
• Support special events, filming, and conventions with costume needs from developing new costumes to pulling from existing stock
• Coordinate fittings with Entertainment and Workroom personnel
• Document Costumes and Production process in various formats for history and analysis
• Source new vendors for materials and finished goods, attend trade shows to keep up on the cutting edge of costume production
• Lead and mentor hourly union cast- coaching them through their show responsibilities, while resolving pay issues and shepherding their development
• Monitor show quality through Cast/Crew feedback and periodic assessments. Give directions on how to clean costumes, set up lines, etc.
• Interface daily with Entertainment Show Producers, Directors, Designers, and Entertainment and Costuming Leaders & Crew

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a Costuming role
• Experience in Theatre, Film, Cosplay, or Fashion
• Experience in costume documentation
• Experience with project/production management lifecycle
• Experience in planning, problem-solving, co *** ict resolution, i *** uencing, and negotiating (written and verbal communication)
• Experience working in a team environment where collaboration is key
• Experience with garment construction and textiles
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including extended hours and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of union agreements
• Experience opening a show and/or entertainment offering
• Leadership experience
• In-depth knowledge of costume/garment history
• Buying and negotiating experience
• Experience using software specific to the business such as Yunique, Smartsheet, Maximo, and/or SAP

Job Description

• Create solutions to improve performance, scalability, and reliability (15%).
• Develop scripts for monitoring tools, maintenance, and for deploying code on servers.
• Make design recommendations for internal software and hardware projects.
• Attend technical meetings and execute strategic and tactical plans.
• Responsible for fine tuning applications and databases to make sure they run efficiently and optimize their performance.
• Contribute to developing deployment tools which are smart enough to understand difference *** ween old and new code; it should be able stop the services on servers gracefully before we make changes on the servers. This is achieved with combination of Python and Ansible working together.
• Work closely with development teams to support continuous integration and deployment (15%).
• Integrate automation tools such as foreman with home grown tools to automate server provisioning process.
• Make sure correct Software version is deployed on all servers. We rely on the Software version report received from monitoring tools and act on the discrepancies found in the version report.
• Work closely with developers on resolution if any new changes cause performance degradation. Solve problems quickly and automate processes (15%).
• Develop and maintain containers with the help of Mesos, develop Docker images and maintain private Docker registry to store all the Docker images.
• Monitor site stability and performance (15%). Monitoring tools play a significant role in the job as we rely on them to detect ser *** issues and alert us in a timely manner.
• Work on production impacting alerts received from various monitoring tools.
• Test and integrate new tools such as Nagios, PagerDuty, Grafana, ELK, Splunk etc. into environment to monitor and detect issues quickly.
• Perform patching on production servers and containers to keep the Operating System and Applications safe and up to date.
• Work on external monitoring services such as Dynatrace and Website Pulse for detecting costumer impacting issues and submitting a fix swiftly.
• Providing analytical ad hoc support (15%); and Work with various third parties in integrating their services with Vudu, which requires understanding how their ser *** work and make appropriate changes on our end.
• Deploy latest software on production servers to push out new features and promotions.
• Work on securing services by deploying/renewing SSL certs on servers/services.
• Manage users/group activity and providing limited/appropriate access to users/group with help of Active Directory.
• Work on identifying root cause of the issues observed in monitoring tools and submitting a fix for them. 24x7 weekly on call rotation (25%).
• Work closely with other teams such as development and QA in resolving the issues noticed in production and making sure we have proper solution and monitors are in place to avoid the reoccurrence of the issue.
• Create new monitors plugins in Nagios, adjust thresholds of the monitors to avoid false positive alerts, create new alerts, reports, and das *** ards in Splunk as we bring up new services/features in Vudu.
• Catch Database issues, setup replications among DB clusters, and fine tune them for *** ter performance. As a part of disaster recovery (DR) plan, responsible for supporting DR site by creating replication *** ween active and standby data centre.
• Distribute the traffic on web servers and database servers by configuring Load balancers, creating virtual IPs, and configuring them to bind with respective servers.
• Perform various activity on webservers to ensure our main ser *** is secure and available to our customers, this is achieved by administrating and maintaining Apache and Nginx.
• Responsible for Installing/updating SSL certs, enabling certain TLS (Transport Layer Security) versions, loading modules, limiting request size.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/IT, Software Engineering or Closely related technical field (or foreign equivalent),
• 5 (five) years of experience in the job offered or closely related occupation OR a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/IT, Software Engineering or Closely related technical field (or foreign equivalent),
• 2 (two) years of experience in the job offered or closely related occupation.

Special Requirements:

• Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Job Description

*** Universal is looking for a Costume Lead to join our Studio Operations team in Doraville, GA.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the costume and wardrobe department to support both our internal and external productions within the broader Atlanta metro region. You'll provide oversight of an extensive inventory of production assets to ensure ideal curation and utilization while managing a team to support production logistics, inventory management, and billing. You will also work closely with Los Angeles based team members to help build and manage key SOPs, system technologies, and standards across the departments.

You will need to be a seasoned production professional able to operate at multiple levels and bring in a forward-thinking operations expertise.

What You'll Do

• Manage P&L for the department through daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring of material costs, labor expenses, and revenue streams. Partner with finance and executives to inform and create annual operation budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range planning
• Determine optimal scheduling and labor shifts including workdays/hours, and overtime based on business volume
• Oversee office administration functions including customer onboarding, order processing, invoicing/billing, client dispute resolution, vendor relations, out-of-state shipping, monthly accounting close, etc.
• Meet with customers to discuss new/continuing show budgets; identify current/future needs and find creative ways to solve production problems. Respond to customer feedback, suggestions, and issues
• Measure and report rental inventory utilization; provide recommendations around asset acquisition, liquidation, and merchandising based on category, period, location, and opportunity for growth and expansion
• Provide design/consulting services for various productions, on-lot events/seminars, high-profile community/industry engagements

What You Must Have...

• Training and experience to identify fabrics, decade and pattern of clothing and efficiently enter it into the database with photos; operate camera booth; troubleshoot IT problems
• Must be able and willing to work any shift as needed. Including shifts standing, lifting, climbing ladders, bending, crouching, and moving up to 25 lbs. of clothing, shoes, and accessories in a warehouse environment
